( at the mention of kieran, benny sighs, pulling away. ) I'm not sure how your brother feels. But considering he won't even talk to me and that he's Kieran, I doubt he likes me that much.

( he glances down to benny’s lips, his tongue darting out to wet his own suddenly dry ones. ) …Okay.

( there’s a still moment between them. the air seems to hum with something untouched, and there’s so much left unsaid. benny should say or do something, but he doesn’t know what. other than what he wants to do, of course. )

( he leans in closer, his hand moving to the back of his neck. ) And you’re mine. That’s why I don’t want you to do this. I want you to believe that I can handle myself.

( “and you’re mine.” it sounds like more than what it is, it sounds--it sounds like what benny wants it to be. his heart races, and his breath catches slightly. his face heats up, and it takes everything in him not to lean in just a little and kiss matheiu. he doesn’t know what’s going on, but he doesn’t want to push his luck. ) ...Okay.

( he stands up from the barstool, resting his hand flat against benny’s hip. ) Why does this matter so much to you?

( oh, god. he definitely being seduced. he’s being seduced, and it’s working. matheiu shouldn’t be allowed to touch him, or to look like this. it just shouldn’t be legal and, fuck, benny shouldn’t want him so much. )

What if I – ( he pauses for a moment, holding his breath. he really shouldn’t ask this, especially not if he’s feeling this way. he moves a bit closer, hand moving to rest against benny’s wrist. ) – Could I stay here for a couple of days? Just until the bruises aren’t noticeable?
