For a democratic secular Iran. For peace and prosperity in the Middle East. This site: "This weblog was created to act as a platform for the voice of secular pro-democracy activists in and outside Iran who are struggling against the religious dictatorship of the Islamic clerics in Iran. My favourite quote: "Evil only prevails when the good stay silent"

Google Reader is a lifeline for Iranians to unfiltered news and ideas in Iran. It is the most used RSS feed (news) reader because it is one of a very few ways people can access a free press. During the last presidential elections Google reader was a key protest tool for activists in Iran, who would use it to read and share news from within and outside of the country.
On June 14 Iran will have it’s next Presidential election, and a few days later Google is switching off Google Reader. The Iranian Government has a history of violent crackdowns, secret arrests, and show trials - many of which occur well after elections are over. Movements can’t grow in an information blackout. Google will cut off a key tool for protest and access to a free press for Iranians, when they need it the most.
