GOING BACK TO MY OLD BLOG

It's unending, dull, draining, dreary motions. I keep expecting to wake up one morning, to REALLY wake up, and for things to make sense and to realize that it was just a boring, foggy dream. The kind of dream that wasn't impressionable and is forgotten before the sleep is even out of your eyes. I keep waiting to wake up from this daze to find my drive again, to be passionate again. When did all the things I loved lose their luster? Music, people, and learning have become burdens instead of blessings. ...It's scary not recognizing who I am or how I got here. Will I ever be alive again? How do you start a flame if there isn't a spark?
Moses was like 80 years old before he saw the burning bush and starting living in his potential and Jesus didn't start his ministry until he was 30. Things takes a long time.. but I never have been patient. Lord, wake me up and give me passion again.
I don't understand anything.
Taking myself out on a date because I can.
"It's a wonder how things they change. You try to make a plan, it never stays the same. You build yourself up for things to come but sometimes you still crumble."
Adventures aren't as special if you don't have someone to share them with.
Bethel Music- This Is What You Do ft. Matt Stinton
repetitive, but catchy. :)
Will your grace run out If I let you down ‘Cause all I know Is how to run ‘Cause I am a sinner If its not one thing its another Caught up in words Tangled in lies You are the Savior And you take brokenness aside And make it beautiful Beautiful
Passion, Purpose, and Peace
This is my last week in science classes, and even though I'm happy with my recent major change from nursing, I'm sad to see science leave my formal education.
This summer I will begin my bachelor's degree in social work and I'm beyond excited. I've finally realized, or came to terms with, the passions and gifts that God has put in me: a burden to help the broken, to give a voice to the voiceless, and to love those who aren't.
Yeah, it may not make a lot of sense to change from pursuing a financially secure job to one that isn't, and some may judge me for switching to an easier major, but I've never felt more peace about my education than I do now. God is showing me that it is far more rewarding to pursue what I'm deeply passionate about than something I'm just "good" at. He's showing me that things won't always make sense, but His peace surpasses my understanding and guides my steps. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
I feel so alive. And joyful to be alive. The new purpose and vision He has instilled in me is so refreshing.
"...Whoever refreshes others will themselves be refreshed." Proverbs 11:25
"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father is this: caring for orphans and widows in affliction and keeping oneself unstained from the world." James 1:27
"But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus -- the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God." Acts 20:24
Went on an adventure today and showed some friends my secret get-away place on campus. I guess it's not a secret anymore, but some secrets are sweeter when shared. :)
Stopped in Biloxi, Mississippi today, on my way home from Louisiana. This church was more beautiful than all the gaudy casinos littering the beachfront.
