Continuing with my attempts at anatomy and proportion. I’ve found I have to shorten the torsos when I draw as I tend to make them too long. I kind of feel like they are still too long.

Over 30 drawings.
I just took a look through my gallery and I noticed that I've finally got approximately 30 finished drawings. That’s wild. I used to always just ditch them when they were done.
Practicing anatomy and proportion.
Another attempt using Sycras colour picking method, it’s just not clicking. I think I’m gonna have to step away from it and go back to my old way of doing it.
Art is Hard.
Been trying to learn new things like Colour Theory and I think it’s something I’m not getting my head around. I feel like i’m following the rules, but it just doesn’t look right. Might not be that many new things until I can figure this out.
I almost feel like I need to apologise to the guy I used as a reference.
More life drawing practice, I’m pretty happy with these new brushes. The face and hands could do with some work but I think this might be the best picture i’ve done yet.
Post Frequency
The frequency of my posts might drop a bit. I’ve currently got it queued to 2 posts a day, but i’m starting to work on multiple pieces so I can leave a piece and come back to it later while still being productive on other projects.. I’m hoping this will ultimately make my art better.
I’m pretty happy with this face, during this one I made great friends with the distort tool aswell as some new brushes I downloaded. I also found the shortcut key for the colour picker tool so that’s pretty wild.
So this is the request Cat Pirate, it was only after i’d filled it in that I realised that I don’t know how to do fur and hair. So that’s something to work on. I’m pretty happy with the line art though. NYAAAR!
I’m super happy with how this pose came out, i’m absolutely stumped on where to begin with the face though. I should look into some face anatomy tutorials. I can’t wait! I actually received a request so my super excited to begin that!
This was originally going to be a Witch character but I wound up enjoying practicing the shading I learnt from the tutorials I’ve been doing that I got carried away before realising I hadn’t actually gave the character clothes. I’m glad I got this extra practice.
This might be my first use of shading without any reference to go on regarding lighting. So i’m pretty happy with it despite the anatomy issues.
It’s wild to think of the improvement i’ve made over this period of time. I’m worried that sooner or later i’ll plateau on the improvements, I think i’m in the “noob gains” area of art improvement.
Another practise pose, also trying to apply what i’ve been learning from those tutorials.
I took a second crack at the Sakimichan female anatomy tutorial, this time I produced something way better! I learnt a bit more when it comes to shading, turns out the colour picker and a soft brush are you best friend when doing this type of thing.
I did follow the tutorial mega closely, so don’t expect the rest of my art to have this level of polish, but man just knowing the method feels like it helped so much.
I had some trouble with some aspects of the shading but I think my skin tones will make leaps and bounds from this point. (I hope.)
Decided to try and do a quick sketch of Butterscotch the Clown from the Conan skits. HIT IT YAKAMOTO!
That skin practice I did definitely helped a lot during this piece of art. This might be one of the best I've produced so far. I hope some day I can look back at this one with embarrassment. That will be some growth I can be happy with.
