Sometimes when you give 101%
There was still 1% left. Human beings aren’t perfect. We make mistakes. Even even when we plan and execute with all our vigor and the best intentions we’re still a little off.
Kind reminds me of my investment today on $OPK. I have an average price of $11.02 on the three trades I made today. I think I could’ve done a little better, maybe $10.6 average. Am I pissed off a little? Sure, but I intend to cost average the position (up to a point) on other days. This sort of reminds me of all the factors that can come into play when we’re making our trades. There is so much to improve on when so much can go wrong.
Example:
Did I just get an internet spike on my 50 mb cable connection? Maybe it’s time to upgrade to high speed fiber.
Did I not get that extra 30 minutes of sleep I need? Maybe I need to take breaks more and get off the computer earlier.
Did I not give that extra 1% in the gym? Maybe I need to do that?
And there are a bunch of things, which explains why most traders are at a severe disadvantage.
I’ve already added IQ Feed, an extremely high speed data connection, cloud hosting, and a custom trading platform. Is it enough, probably not?
Later this year, we plan to get our hands on Reuters Eikon, a global cell phone booster, an fpga build, and an even faster internet connection/cloud hosting solution.
And that’s what I love about trading. There is always something to improve on. It’s not about the money. For traders for whom it was have already blown up and moved on. It’s about the experiential journey where you greatly improve your mind, emotional fortitude, and learn about the world. Yes, it should be fun, but even more challenging. If we don’t grow, we die. Until next time.
I always say, “if you can’t take a little pain, get out of trading.” I believe this also applies to pretty much every profession. The problem with trading is that it’s a completely different beast, just you staring at your money on the screen.
Trading is at least 90% money management. Yes, there’s a little bit of luck involved. There’s an intelligence factor. However, once you get down to the bones of it, it’s really about discipline.
Are you able to think in probabilities and percentages? Can you conquer the psychological demons which spell failure? Then trading might be for you.
Anyone ever had a dream that said: “buy this stock”?
On July 16th, I had a dream where I was swimming in some weird tunnels and playing out some modified events from my life. What seemed to be a mirror image of me literally told me to put all my money on “RGDX.” Of course, I wasn’t going to do that because I had no idea about the company. I had only traded it once and knew nothing about it.
However, that dream sent chills down my spine. Looking back it’s even more scary--the company more than doubled from it’s July 17th low of .075 to it’s recent high of .19.
This leads me to believe three possibilities could’ve occurred:
1. There are paid psychics in the trading community, who simply bought the stock or relayed information.
2. The information was somehow transplanted to my subconscious by a computer algorithm built into an ad or webpage of some sort (although I don’t recall).
3. Parallel universes exist where there exist poorer/richer versions of me because they decided to not take/take the trade and communicated that information to me.
I think all three are equally likely, but this blew my mind. Meanwhile, I’m leaning towards one.

‘Dem Folks were thinking they could squeeze even more out of a dry lemon. Did they really think they could buy in this late, praying for a buyout?
What has the world come to? Reminds me of all the DARA buyers on super high volume day.
