Jake awoke before the sun would come up. He had to go hide somewhere. He rubbed the wolf’s head to get his attention. Maybe he would follow him.
Al was not an early riser. In fact, at the rub, he turned over (somehow still asleep) and nearly rolled onto the other. He woke up, giving a great big yawn with all his pointy teeth, and licked his snout absently, before remembering Jake was even there, and he sniffed at him lazily. Hello, friend.
Jake blew in his face. “I have to go home. The sun is going to rise soon.”
He blinked a few times at the air being blown in his face, and sat up to focus on him. It was hard to tell if he understood, but he nudged jake with his nose, and got to his feet.
He hoped that the wolf understood what he said. It had already been made clear earlier that they both understood the difference in their species by scent. Jake rubbed his head. “Want to come with me?”
He snorted softly, and yawned, but he nodded his head slowly.
No one would probably freak out at the house. Just got to keep the cat hybrids from him. The male nodded and led the wolf back to his house. He let him inside.
He panted as he trotted right into the house, his tail wagging tiredly again. At first, it might have been the time of morning keeping him at such a low level of energy, but the creature seemed to be tired. They’d only entered the house for a few steps before the creature collapsed where it stood, laying on its side and just continued to pant.
Jake immediately went to his aid. “Hey! You alright!?” He better not be sick. This guy is not a vet.
His tail seemed to begood in spritis, but the creature immediately just kind of closed its eyes. Had it passed out?? Went back to sleep? Either way, he started to shed heavily all over the floor, leaving bare spots on his shrinking body.
Well, that couldn’t be good. He had the worst thoughts yet. Was he dying?
What was left was vaguely a man- still holding his wolf ears and tail, though they were several shades lighter than the piles of fur he left on the ground. He was still unconscious and panting, but he was still alive at least.
