heyo, starter call time !! i’m going to be using my favorite dork, jake johnson, as my mascot from now on !! i know i have a couple replies left to do, but i wanted to get this up in the mean time. even if we’ve previously talked about doing starters, i would greatly appreciate it if you could still comment, just to help keep my forgetful brain organized !! all i ask is that you specify which muse of mine you’d like it from and for which muse you’d like it for !!

rapunzel had been at the painted duckling all morning working on her new piece. it was of the tower she had lived in for eighteen years, with eugene climbing up the side. it was only what she could imagine it looking like, her ruggedly heroic husband climbing up her hair. the blonde went to dip her brush back in her paint when she realized she was out of hunter green. walking over to her shelves of paint, rapunzel opened the paint bottle. green promptly spurted up at her, spraying the woman all over with paint. “damn it!” she muttered, reaching for a towel as the bell over the door jangled. “i’ll be with you in a minute! small paint emergency!”

🌲 With Valentine’s fast approaching, Forest found himself getting increasingly lonely. He walked into the Painted Duckling to spend time with someone he knew. “Hey Mom! It’s Forest here to keep you company,” he called out, setting his laptop bag down on the counter. The male wanted to see his mom for the first time in what felt like forever.

RAPUNZEL smiled cheerfully at her son. “forest!” he had been going through a rough patch lately and it broke rapunzel’s heart to see her son suffer. she was so happy to see him doing better. “how are you, baby?” she asked, trying to pat the paint off of her clothes. she huffed a little as it smeared more. “damn it!”

rosie skipped her way around town to her mom’s shop, she had been a little more happy then usual this past days and the only thing that she could think that would make it better was to see her mother. walking inside the the painted duckling and hearing where her mother’s voice was coming from she made her way to the back, she couldn’t help but giggle at the sight of the other, maintaining the family tradition of clumsiness “oh mommy, what have you done?”

RAPUNZEL couldn’t help but laugh when she heard her daughter’s giggle, looking down at the green mess she had made of herself. “i needed some more green paint and well....” the woman gestured to herself with a grin. “small paint explosion.” she grabbed a towel and tried to mop off her clothes, only succeeding in spreading it further over herself. giving a slight shrug, the blonde brought the green back over to her easel. “how are you, baby girl?”

okay so cece is a fucking mess. she’s super rebellious against the whole ‘southern belle’ thing that her mom has going on. she smokes cigarettes, goes out clubbing, shows up to work hungover, and is just an all around train wreck.

cece doesn’t have a great relationship with her parents and just tries to do everything she can to make them angry with her because angst. she’s a bit coder with her siblings, but she’s still the family disappointment.

she’s herero ( i know, gross ) and was in a really toxic relationship, which makes her incredibly closed off to any new love possibilities ( but love her,, please )

cece’s only actually love is baking and she truly loves her job, even though she shows up hungover or high. she’s always trying out new flavors and could spend hours decorating a cake.

🛠️ Bobble had formed an odd friendship with Rapunzel. He didn’t really know where it came from, but he was happy for it as it was someone to hang out with outside of Pixie Hollow. “Punz, it’s Bobble. Figured if drop by and say hi,” he says, knocking on the door.

RAPUNZEL was headed out to lunch at one of the cafés in town when bobble walked into her store. “hi bobble! you just caught me on my way out!” the blonde wrapped the bright red scarf eugene had given her for one of their many anniversaries around her neck and skin her messenger bag over her shoulder. “i’m headed out to lunch but i’d love if you wanted to join me!” she exclaimed with a smile, grabbing her keys to lock up the shop.

ASTRID was a girl on a mission. she had grown exceedingly closer with malachai, often loitering around his shop at during her free time. at first he was just a friend; a familiar friend from the isle who didn’t despise her. she wasn’t quite sure when he became something more. she knew he didn’t feel the same about her, not yet anyway. but tonight she was going to change that. smiling like the cat that caught the canary when she spotted him, the redhead strutted over, her dress moving fluidly with her. “well don’t you look handsome,” astrid said with a smirk, taking his glass of champagne from him and streaking a sip.

KINSLEY grabbed a glass of wine from the bar, nodding politely at the bartender. she had decided to come to the ball alone, preferring to spend the night with friends and keeping an eye on her siblings. while she had no loyalty or care for her mother, her siblings were the most important thing to her. the brunette smiled when she saw her brother, walking over to him with a smile on her face. “happy valentine’s day, wren,” kinsley said, fixing his jacket with one hand. “don’t you look dapper.” giving him a wink and taking a sip from her glass, she looked around the room. “where’s your special lady?”

RAPUNZEL floated around the ballroom, practically estatic. she loved valentine’s day with a passion, often decorating both the house and the painted swan in hearts, pink, and everything she could find related to the holiday. celebrating love was the blonde’s favorite thing to do and the fact that there was a whole holiday dedicated to it made rapunzel so happy. eugene was off getting something to satisfy her sweet tooth when she spotted her youngest daughter. “rosie!” she exclaimed, smiling widely at the girl. “look how beautiful you are!” she spun her daughter around, in awe of how grown up she looked. she could remember when rosie was just a small child, wearing poofy dress up gowns and rapunzel’s shoes. “i can’t believe how grown up you look,” rapunzel said wistfully.

CALLIOPE stuffed a cupcake in her mouth, licking the bright red frosting off her fingers. since she didn’t have a date and everyone seemed to be paired up on the dance floor, she had retired to loitering around the food table. walking away from the table to take a lap around the room for a familiar face, the brunette smiled when she spotted her mother. “mom!” she exclaimed, wrapping her arms around her. “i am so glad to see you. i’m so bored and i’m pretty sure i’ve eaten half of the desserts on the table.” leaning her head against meg’s shoulder, she looked at all the couples on the dance floor and around the room, her heart heavy.

ASTRID stood to the side of the dance floor, drink in hand as she watched everyone with sharp eyes. she looked good ( and she knew it ) and was eagerly looking for a certain someone. taking a rather large sip of whatever alcohol she had intimidated the bartender into giving her, the redhead grinned and walked over to a familiar friend when she spotted her across the floor. “helene,” astrid said, looking her friend’s outfit up and down. “you look good. not as good as me, but then again, who could?” smirking and drowning her glass, the princess lazily handed it to a waiter in exhange for a glass of champagne. “are you here with anyone? or riding solo?”
