A post on surgeons and practitioners who needed to be stayed away from.
So, I’ll start this post with Dr Farshid Mahboubirad, who has a pretty impressive following, but an equally controversial ‘career.’ This surgeon was actually thrown in jail at one point and then began doing surgeries abroad in the Ukraine a few years ago, he invited a number of influencers and managed to botch pretty much all of them, doing their surgeries in a HOTEL (yes, you read that right (not even a hospital). Some of these girls were extremely well known and promised surgery in return for exposure. One girl I knew had just left after having surgery with him before he was arrested.
Jailyne Ojeda was one of these influencers, but seems to have decided after agreeing to have surgery with him that she would still tell people she hadn’t (she has a history of denying surgeries after all - but far more recently has admitted a ‘repair’ nose job with a surgeon in California whilst not owning up to the extensive other work). Dr Farshid, decided to expose Jailyne by posting her before and afters and all hell broke loose at the time 😅 He’s also known for heavily editing his photos, he’s not the only one though, so with that I’ll move onto some more craziness.
Of these two Dr Furtado was extremely well known on social media. He went on the run with his mother after killing a patient but was later charged and found. This guy was like a celebrity himself, I had actually spoken to him privately, but thought better of booking with him.
At this point you may well be thinking ‘these things would never happen in the US or Europe.’ We do have great safeguards in place but there are those who have slipped though the loopholes here too.
Not as bad as some of these people practicing by a long way but a very well known surgeon in America was caught inflating the sizes of the implants he was working with. It came to light when some of his patients went to other surgeons and were found with far less cc than he had said he’d put in. The surgeon’s name? Pousti. He’s taken ‘early retirement’ now, which you could say is very convenient 😉
There are others who have been accused of working drunk or high, or accepting ‘sexual favours’ as payment. My next post will be on a notorious UK practitioner so crazy they need their own post 😂
