Just because something makes you nervous or anxious doesn't mean you have anxiety. It seems like people throw around that word so loosely now like it's the cool thing to have anxiety in 2015 and you're soooo "relatable"
I’m sorry, are you a doctor? I’m pretty sure you are not in any right to tell people whether they do or do not have anxiety. Not sure if you’re writing this in relation to me, or to people who have reached out to me about what they feel, but either way, it’s insulting to those who DO suffer with anxiety.
I’m not self-diagnosing myself.. my doctor signed me up for therapy, and I have medication for my anxiety, so I’m pretty sure it’s more than just being “nervous.” I’ve had anxiety since high school, but I was never comfortable addressing it until recently, because media has brought light to it, so I no longer feel like I’m the “only one.” Anxiety is very common, and there are varying degrees, but you should never undermine someone’s problem - you don’t know what they’ve been through.
Anyways, I think you should think twice about sending messages like this to people/about people, because it’s extremely insulting to those who actually do suffer with anxiety and have a hard time expressing it. It’s people like you that discourage others from talking about it and getting the help that they may need.. because they feel like people will undermine their situation. Think twice about saying things like what you just sent me.
