If you’re like me and can’t keep up with a planner to save your life...a whiteboard calendar is perfect! You stay organized without having to remember your planner! I’ll just write out memos on paper and come home to write it out on my board

Intellectual Standards for Scientific Thinking.
Clarity: Understandable, the meaning can be grasped
Could you elaborate further on our hypothesis (or idea)?
Could you give me a more detailed explanation of the phenomenon you have in mind?
Accuracy: Free from errors or distortions, true
How could we check on those data?
How could we verify or test that theory?
Precision: Exact to the necessary level of detail.
Could you be more specific?
Could you give me more details on the phenomenon?
Could you be more exact as to how the mechanism takes place?
Relevance: Relating to the matter at hand.
How do those data relate to the problems?
How do the bear on the questions?
Depth: Containing complexities and multiple interrelationships.
What factors make this a difficult scientific problem?
What are some of the complexities we must consider?
Breadth: Encompassing multiple viewpoints.
Do we need to look at this from another perspective?
Do we need to consider another point of view?
Do we need to look at this in other ways?
Logic: The parts make sense together, no contradictions.
Are all the data consistent with each other?
Are these two theories consistent?
Is that implied by the data we have?
Significance: Focusing on the important, not trivial.
Is this the central idea to focus on?
Which set of data is most important?
Fairness: Justifiable, not self-serving or one-sided.
Do I have any vested interest in this issue which keeps me from looking at it objectively?
Am I misrepresenting a view with which I disagree?
Just a few pictures of my planner for the spring semester! I made a lot of the stickers using word. Now if only my professors would post the syllabus already!
Making note cards for the new semester. I downloaded a Dot grid background from Pinterest and got the paint stroke clipart from Etsy.
How I use these:
While I read my textbook, I summarize each section in my own words on these 4x5 notecards. The key to understanding concepts is to write them down instead of typing and summarize in your own words.
This really helps keeps things less stressful when I need to study in the future for tests.
