““You have to find the right distance between people. Too close, and they overwhelm you. Too far, and they abandon you.””
—
tiny nessian hc
okay but the first time nesta and cassian sleep together they fall asleep entwined
but nesta wakes up alone
and it’s a horrible second or two
before she catches the scent of coffee coming up the stairs
and another few before cassian tentatively lets himself back in
smiling at her shyly as her carries two mugs to the bedside table
eyes trailing from her head resting on her crossed arms
down the curve of her back, the swell of her backside, her long legs
‘good morning’ she says softly
taking him in
he’s shirtless
only a loose pair of trousers riding low on his hips
he’s got more than a few of her marks on his skin
and she knows she’s got enough of his to match
it sparks a warm feeling in her chest
he sits on the edge of the bed
leaning in to kiss the corner of her mouth
‘good morning’ he murmurs against her ear
and he returns her sleepy smile
A Court of Frost and Starlight | Nessian
“He remained staring after her, that present in his hands. Cassian’s fingertips dug into the soft wood of the small box. He was grateful the streets were empty when he hurled that box into the Sidra. Hurled it hard enough that the splash echoed off the buildings flanking the river, ice cracking from the impact. Ice instantly re-formed over the hole he’d blown open. As if it, and the present, had never been.”
