The Basics of Potion Making 🔬

| a potion may represent and abstract quality, inspire the mind to do some significant awareness, or sooth the body to a state of well being | 

| there is an array if ingredients one can use in a potion | > herbs 🌿 > crystals 💎 > alcohol 🍻  > water💧 > tinctures🍶  > time of day ⏳ > day of the week 📆 > planetary correspondence 🌎 > elemental correspondence🌿💨🔥💦 > lunar phase 🌑  |there are a couple of different directions you can go in the making of a potion| Tincture Potion  > first crush the herb material with a mortar and pestle  > use a mason jar and fill it 3/4 full of the chosen herbs then fill the remaining space with 70% proof alcohol (vodka or rum) > keep in a dark place for two weeks, shaking the jar two times a day > after two weeks, strain out the plant matter and keep the remaining liquid in a dark bottle  > when you wish to use it, use a dropper and mix 2 drops of the condensed liquid to a cup of distilled water  

Crystal Elixir  > can make this elixir in your bottle of water > !don’t use poisonous crystals!  > steep a stone in water for a measured out of time in sunlight or moonlight > thoroughly cleanse crystal before use, both physically and metaphysically 

Herbal Elixir > a liquid that contains properties of planetary energies > the herbs are blended with the physical, astral, and spiritual which all three levels balanced  => place one pint of (alcohol of choice) in a small enamel or glass saucepan and bring to a simmer, simmer until liquid is reduced by half => pour the reduced alcohol into a dark wide mouth jar, then add half cup of chosen dried herbs or one cup of fresh herbs to the jar and seal it  => keep the mixture in sealed jar in a slightly warm area for two weeks  => strain herbs from mixture, keep liquid in jar => take herbs and let them completely dry, then burn them to ashed in a fire resistant dish or cauldron (that is clean) => mix the ashes with the liquid in the jar, letting sit for two more weeks  => poor liquid out, leaving solid mass in the jar (let sit for two more weeks with an open top to let moisture evaporate) => scrape the dried elixir into an air tight container  => when ready to use, put 1/4 tsp. of elixir to 2 cups of water

Anatomy of a Spell  🔮

|A Spell is Made out of Three Things|  > the what, the how, and the who

[THE WHAT]  >Before thinking about a spell, you need to figure out what you need it for. > the what is the intent and will determine ingredients  > ingredients have correspondences, which is like a metaphysical sign language; two things could be similar in general correspondences, bit different in the way it is put across   - ex: black pepper and eggshells both correspond with protection. however, black pepper also corresponds with banishing spells, so the black pepper packs more of a punch than the egg shells. 

[THE HOW] > then you need yo know how you want it to happen > the what could be prosperity, but the spell could either be dragging in or driving out prosperity ^ this is why the how is VERY important ^ > how you deal with a spell will either make or break it; like punctuation in a sentence (you’re sure v.s. you’re sure? 

[THE WHO]  > the who is the meaning of the target > spells are either general in target (to however finds it), personal (onto one’s self), or targeted (onto a specified other)

{extra tips} > once you know what to include in the spell, it’s time to put the spell together > actions that make a spell are also important  - connotations that actions have   = to add what you speak of : carve, bathe in, mix, rub, or fill   = to remove what you speak of : cut, rip, burn, throw, away, or sweep   = to keep what you speak of : bury, hide, seal, burn (activate), or use as               intended

everything has a different meaning to everyone, and everyone sees magic in different ways. Using what feels right is more important then what books say is right.

I know the craft is sensitive, but, everyone’s magic is different. That’s why if I post spells, I give options. all are things that feel right to me, and to others who’ve done the spell
