Spells For Teenage Witches by Marina Baker 2/10
I have a lot of problems with this book. This book is kind of a mess. It is Wiccan, though never mentions Wicca nor differentiates Wicca from witchcraft. It also has some shady and possibly even counterproductive advice for young witches. Lots of these spells requires other people's hair or nail clippings, and in a question portion of this book she answers the question of how to get these things and she doesn't even have an answer, even though she requires it for her spells. Also when answering a question about not having the correct color for the spell, her answer is just "Find it." Baker also mentions being a "white witch" a lot, which is something that I personally do not like for many reasons. She does have a good witch tip page with some safety tips, and some of the spells are pretty simple (though some aren't) and they do relate to topics teenagers need but besides that this book is a trainwreck.
The Spell Book For New Witches by Ambrosia Hawthorn 9/10
I love this book. Unlike the previous book it doesn't have any strange, hard to get spell ingredients like nail clippings or hair. It also differentiates between Paganism, Wicca, and witchcraft. This book actually teaches the reader about witchcraft and goes over some history of spellcasting. It covers all the basics and goes into detail. It covers a lot of information without being too hard to understand, but also having enough detail where it actually teaches the reader something. It also has lots of different types of spells, meaning there's something for everybody.
Crystals by Jennie Harding 8/10
Docking one point off so it's not 9/10 simply because this book implies that crystals can heal physical ailments, and while I do believe they can help I do not agree that they are a fix-all cure. However, besides that, I do absolutely love this book. It's not exactly a witchcraft book, but lots of witches, including myself, use crystals. This book is almost like a textbook in a way. It doesn't just go over crystals. Before talking about crystals it talks about the science of light and colors and the science of the Earth, and then it talks about the science and history of crystals before getting into the crystals themselves. This book lists tons of crystals, organized by color, and talks about their structure, colors, geographical sources, rarity, hardness, physical/emotional uses, healing effects, and personal uses.
