Anon request: Video of Stevie “tapping Christine on the butt with her tambourine”. - On With The Show, January 22, 2015.
Video: X
“I realized then that everything could tumble, and when you’re in Colorado, and you’re surrounded by these incredible mountains, you think avalanche. It meant the whole world could tumble around us and the landslide would bring you down. And a landslide in the snow is like, deadly. And when you’re in that kind of a snow-covered, surrounding place, you don’t just go out and yell, because the whole mountain could come down on you. Landslide I wrote on the guitar, and it’s another one that I wrote in about five minutes. But see, when I’m really thinking about something - I mean when something’s really bothering me - again, the best thing that I can do is go to the music room, or to the office, where I can write… Because once I put it down and I can read it back, and I can think about what I’m saying, then it makes sense to me. When I’m just thinking it in my head, it’s going around and around, and I feel like a little child unable to make a real, substantial decision. And we were talking about our lives… The rest of our lives….”

Do you know if Stevie is a self taught singer or if she took classes?
Hey anon, I don’t think she took classes when she was young:
“I’ve never done that in my whole life, ever,” Ms. Nicks said in a speaking voice much like her singing voice: at once coarse and tender, bitter and sweet. “I’ve never taken voice lessons. I did not know that you could be totally hoarse and have almost complete laryngitis and work with a really good vocal coach for an hour in the afternoon, so your voice has time to settle, and you can sing like a bird.” - New York Times, 1997.
Here’s a very detailed description of her vocal regimen.
But I guess we could say she’s learned a lot by practicing with her grandfather and all through her childhood:
My grandfather wanted to take me on the road when I was four, because we were always singing duets and stuff.”
“When I was a child I was so enthralled with music. I can remember sitting in the backseat of our car with my mom and dad in the front and I would be singing and my parents would start talking. I remember one time I said ”I’m trying to sing and you guys are talking . I would really appreciate it if you would keep it down.”
“Ok, I can do it. I think I can do it. Ok, I can do it. I have walked around with my brush singing ‘Take Another Piece Of My Heart’ with Janis Joplin around my house, so I can probably do this.” - On being asked to join Fritz.

I have it marked down that this was from the NY Post on 6-11-86.
