It's been ages since I update y'all so here goes.
I left y'all off with rescheduling my MFM appointment. So I had that and it went well. I was a bit peeved as it took a long time to get my bloodwork done as they were waiting for the orders to come through. While it stinks that my MFM doctor isn't local and I have to have the appointments with her as a video call I do like her. I got to see our baby at the appointment and our little one is movin' and groovin'.
I've had 3 appointments with my OBGYN since graduating from my clinic. I've only gotten to see our baby at 2 of them. The 3rd appointment right before Thanksgiving, they only listened to their heart. It took a minute to get a reading as they keep moving around.
Our little one has become really active and hubby can feel them too. We went on a date night to see WICKED. It was great, baby kept kicking because I think I annoyed them by trying to wake them up since I wanted to try and get some sleep after the movie and I've been having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep.
I've found a local pregnancy and postpartum support group. The women there are amazing and I'm so glad I've found this group. It's helped a lot.
We publicly announced our pregnancy after thanksgiving and a lot of people were excited for us which was really nice.
We had a consultation with a black doula. Hubby was a bit annoyed that I wanted to sign up with her without checking into others but she's the ONLY black doula in the area. There are loads of others but not black ones. I had a few conversations with him to explain why this is important for me.
Some of the not so fun parts of pregnancy (obviously if you're having any of these symptoms please check with your doctor first)
I had some cramping for the majority of the first trimester. They said this is normal and that unless there's blood they're not super concerned.
I've gotten a few nosebleeds and was told to drink more water.
I'm having some swelling in my legs and feet so I've had to get compression socks. I'm going to have to talk to my chiropractor though to find out if there are larger sizes as the size I ordered Large-XLarge is having issues with my right foot because of my pinky toe and possibly the swelling.
I periodically have some round ligament pain, which is really annoying.
I've also been having some pains in my left leg, which I think is due to me needing to stretch more and rest it more. It happens most when I'm trying to sleep as I sleep on my left and I think too much weight is resting on it. I have a little bump pillow that when I rest it on that it helps a lot.
Getting to feel our little one move has been amazing.
I feel so blessed to be at this point as so many people both those with Infertility and those who do not have it do not get to this point.
My bump, watching it change from bloat to a bump has been so cool. (Although I do wish more of my cute dresses still fit.)
I'm starting to set up things in the nursery, although my little one will be sleeping with us at nighttime for the first few months-year, we do want them to have their own room. The major reason is that they need their own space. For naps they'll sleep in their crib in their room and bedtime will be in our room. We'll also have quiet playtime and relaxing time in their room.
Setting up their Google account and sending them emails has been so nice. I would love to have letters from my momma and while I also plan on writing some handwritten ones this way they have this account. Also because screentime isn't completely avoidable and I would like our child(ren) to be tech-literate so this way we can control what they have access to.
We have an MFM appointment next and then an OBGYN appointment next month.
