Would anyone be interested in a Supergiant Hades/PJO style crossover yumeship story focusing around Zagreus and the canon events of the game? My hyperfixation is tearing up my brain and she would love to share it.
Leon comes home late, covered in blood that isn’t his, and thinks you won’t notice.
You hear the front door click shut, the sound muffled and cautious like someone trying to hide the action.
Leon slinks through the entry room with no light on like a black cat through a back alleyway. He doesn't turn on the lights.
There's the faint drag of boots across the floor. A pause in the entryway like he’s deciding whether to commit to being seen.
When he finally steps into the kitchen light, it’s obvious. Leon Kennedy is covered in blood.
He's not injured, not limping, not even breathing hard. Just stained, like Carrie at the prom.
Dark splatters along his jacket, his sleeves, dried streaks at his collar like he tried to wipe it away and gave up halfway through.
He gives you that perfectly crafted ‘nothing's wrong, sweetheart’ smile and acts like everything's fine, like he didn’t just walk through your front door looking like a biohazard.
“Long night,” he says casually, already reaching for the sink.
You don’t move.
He rinses his hands like that’s going to fix anything, water turning faintly pink before disappearing down the drain. He avoids your eyes the whole time.
That’s the part that gives him away.
“You’re going to act like I don’t see that?” you ask quietly.
His shoulders tighten just slightly and then he forces his body into an exaggerated calm, sinking into himself.
“I didn’t want you to worry.”
You let out a slow breath through your nose. “You came home looking like that and thought I wouldn’t?”
For the first time, he looks at you. Really looks, like he’s checking whether you’re angry or just scared.
“…It’s not mine,” he says, softer now.
You step closer anyway, close enough to see the smear at his jaw he missed. Close enough to notice the exhaustion underneath the calm mask.
“I figured that much out,” you say. “What I’m not figuring out is why you thought that would make it better.”
His jaw tightens, then loosens. He exhales like he’s been holding it since he opened the door.
“Because if I tell you what it was,” he says, voice lower, “you’ll never sleep again.”
That lands heavier than the blood ever did.
You reach past him, turn off the faucet, and finally make him still.
“I already wasn’t sleeping,” you say. “Come sit down and tell me all about it.”
he was there during siege of the North. he infiltrated the spirit oasis. he has an uncle who studies spirits and the spirit world. he watched the sky go dark then the moon suddenly reappear like everyone else in the entire world did. and most importantly he watched zhao get eaten by a giant godzilla fish spirit.
I really wanted to talk about something I think everyone’s been through: you get all excited, start reading a new story, get attached to the characters… and then you find out the author stopped posting months ago! 😭 It always happens right when you’re in a reading slump, just trying to fall in love with something new again.
I just finished reading such a good story, but it only has 12 chapters. Then I went to check, and the last time the author updated it was back in February — and now it’s October! This always happens. When you’re in a reading slump and finally find a really interesting story about something you’re obsessed with at the moment, it either ends up being super short, or the author just stops posting after a few chapters and never continues. It’s so sad.
He literally dominates my banner pulls, literally pushed dark king Xavier out of the way a few months ago in 30 wishes. BUT HE DECIDED TO WAIT TILL WISH 94! I'm f2p so I almost gave up.
So I had a couple thoughts that sort of spiraled into this mess of word vomit and it was focused around the names of the Sunlight Sisters.
This is long as balls, not gonna lie so I'll put this here if no one wants to read the sleep deprived rant of a mentally ill weirdo, also spoilers so yeah:
TLDR #3; Mi-Yeong is the divergent path to a different way of thinking in regards to the true nature of demons and could offer redemption to souls manipulated by Gwi-Ma vs. Celine is the path of traditional thinking that offers no mercy to demons regardless of how they came to be.
So the name Celine, we can rule out as a non-traditional name in Korean cause 1. It's a French name with Latin origins meaning "heavenly" and 2. I went on a google search spree to make sure it wasn't a case of does have Korean origin and coincidentally sounds similar to a non-Korean name.
At first I thought it was like a French spelling of the Greek name Selene and was like "omg Selene is the name of the Greek Moon goddess" and thought it was an intentional to be a contrast to Rumi's mom, who loved a demon and had a whole demon/human baby. Maybe Mi-Yeong means something like sun or light in Korean and, despite not knowing the third Sunlight Sister's name, makes an interesting fundemental contrast within a group of hunters.
We see in the movie how much Celine hates demons or anything demon related as she cannot accept Rumi's demon heritage, hell she basically says she loved and raised Rumi because of the relationship had with Mi-Yeong. If Rumi was literally an unrelated demon/human hybrid, you'd have trouble convincing me that Celine would actually care for her because of her demon heritage.
HOWEVER, I am nothing if not afraid of making myself look like a moron on the internet, so I double checked and found that yeah I was completely wrong.
So Celine means "heavenly" and cannot be a sun antithesis I was hoping for, but Ryu Mi-Yeong is a girls girl and pulled through for me. In Korean, the surname Ryu 류 means "willow tree" and Mi-Yeong 미영 can mean a few different things based off of the old Hanja characters that Hangul is derived from, but most I've found mean "beauty".
The new contrast is honestly more interesting in my opinion because now we have "heavenly" and roughly "willow tree beauty", or divinity/purity and a rooted earthly beauty. Also, according to Dr. Google, willow trees are associated with the goddess Yuhwa and the coming of Spring.
Yuhwa is said to have mingles more in the human realm than the heavens after being disgraces by her husband/kidnapper, and goes on to have a son that would eventually create the kingdom of Goguryeo, one of the Three Kingdoms of Korean.
The coming of Spring seems pretty straight forward in terms of allegory, change and new beginnings
TLDR; We have Celine who hates demons and fully denies Rumi's demon heritage by just straight up ignoring itor saying it was a mistake. The demon world is shown to be below the earth aka cthonic aka not heavenly.
TLDR; And then there is Ryu Mi-Yeong a hunter who falls in love with a demon and has a child with said demon, leading to Rumi a human/demon hunter with access to the Honmoon - a first as far as we are concerned. Mi-Yeong choices brought about a change in the overall grand plan of the Hunters. We get a rainbow honmoon, not a golden one.
While it hasn't been explicitly stated what a rainbow honmoon can do because being a barrier between the demon realm and the earthly realm, its implied to be a stronger version of the blue honmoon and an easier honmoon to form than the golden one as it is built with the good and bad from the human soul. Does it have the power to protect demons in the earthly realm from Gwi-Ma's influence? Can demons cross over in a search for genuine redemption?

I still contend that this is, in fact, the best video on the internet, period. The sheer comedic timing. The knowledge that it cannot possibly have been constructed. The very human expression Pallas cats’ round pupils give them. And the backstory that this was literally the first footage captured by this camera in this placement, that this is the cat immediately noticing his environment has been changed and investigating with all the suspicion of a grumpy old gardener whose gnomes have been moved again…. *chef’s kiss*
kids these days are like “i need chat gpt to write an essay that would normally take 12 hours in 2” but back in my day i did that all the time by using a little technique called “writing some absolute bullshit.” and yet i still walked away with a better essay and more critical thinking skills than i would get if i used chatgpt. write a bad essay that you started on the day it was due, but write it yourself.
