Clark shrugged, all the while pushing up his glasses further up the bridge of his nose. âWell, the pay really isnât all that impressive, but I like the travelling bit,â He explained. Sure, what reporter didnât like to travel? For Clark however, it was far more important that he did. It gave him the cover he needed to investigate, and to well, stop bad things from happening in his not so subtle way. To the public, he was simply the new reporter guy. Thatâs how it had to stay, too.
Heâd heard quite a bit of rumors about this place, and Jayce confirming it had him sold. He wouldnât leave until he got his story, and got to the bottom of it-whatever it was. âPleasure is mine, Jayce,â He smiled. âWell, hopefully thatâs what Iâm here to find out. Any cops, or federal agents shown up?â
"Well at least you're enjoying the traveling bit." Cops or feds? Yeah there had been a couple and she had stayed as far away from them as she could. Wasn't like she couldn't take them but this little town had been a nice place to stay for the time being and she didn't really want to have to move on yet. "A few, haven't seen them much though. Don't think they even know what to look for. Overheard someone that works at the hospital say all the bodies have these weird black veins running up their necks and onto their faces. Said it looked like they just had the life just sucked right out of them." And boy had they tasted good. She limited herself to one a week, just enough to stay healthy looking and not draw too much attention. She knew they'd be finding another body on the other side of town, since she had just fed about three hours ago now.
