Episode Two; Part One

“Just call me Slim, Ive been a real socialite the last two weeks I been out here in LA. Soho is my best friend, so when she said she was moving across the fucking country she wasn’t gone a month before I asked her which suitcase should I pack, givenchy or prada? I don’t really plan on staying long I just had to be around while she gets settled in. Im a celebrity stylist, so leaving NY wasn’t an issue career wise. New York and LA are homes to the only names you need to know so if I’m in either of those places ..so are my coins. Today I’m out on Rodeo picking up a garment for a model I have to style. Usually my assistant would do this kind of thing but I wanted the chance to learn my way around. On my way to my car I got a text from my homie Jody, I met her last night at this poppin club she owns."

text message Jody: sup? wanna link up? Slim: on rodeo. got a shoot at 4. meet me at my studio? Jody: bet.

(later at Slims studio) Slim: this dress fits you amazing, its one of my favorite pieces. Model: its gorgeous, your style = my life, so when can i pick a piece to borrow? (eyes clothing rack) Slim: naaah .. i wouldn’t even let my momma borrow a piece (both laugh)

“My name is Jazmin, I’m just out here in LA chasing a dream like many. I moved out here 4 years ago to pursue my career as a singer. the competition is CRAZY and the struggle …. has been real. Today I’m in the studio meeting with my producer getting some feedback on a track we working on for my new album. My best friend Billie just moved out here and I’m excited. We met freshman year of high school and since I moved away I can admit … I haven’t really fucked with any of these girls out here like I do her, the hate is just too heavy. I invited her to the studio since I haven’t really seen her since she got settled in, we definitely have to share some tea.”

Jaz: so what you think? I been stressed about this track Ty .. Tyrone: (exhales weed smoke) I know, I know but I’m feeling it, I feel like you really went hard on this, you didn’t hold back this time .. Billie: girl, no. nothing is better than new york, I miss my loft and nothing is like waking up the sounds of taxi’s honking and people on they way to the monnneyyyy .. (both laugh) Billie: but I really wanted to come invite you to Soho’s salon opening, she’s throwing a rendezvous and you know I need you there Jaz: girl cause you already know (taps her weave) the next thing I was gonna ask was about Soho’s salon, she slays a weave bitch, I need a appointment weekly now that y’all out here. (both laugh) Billie: you silly as hell, play that track though, I know my best friend can SANG so let me hear it .. (both laugh and Jaz plays the song)

“It was definitely necessary to come see my best friend today, Im glad she’s in LA with me because I am antisocial as fuuuuuuuuck, she could introduce me to some new people with her loud mouth. (laughs) I just had to invite her to my fiancé’s event especially because I know Jaz is trying to make it out here and I fully support my friend .. I know Soho knows some top people so bringing Jaz to mingle is the perfect place for her to find some friends in higher places.”

Episode One; Part One

“I’m Soho, if you didn’t know already. I just moved to L.A from NY to get away from all the f*kn drama that happened. Me and Billie went through some shit and ended up going through a messy ass custody battle which ended up with Niyah in jail.We have to start over and leave behind the city life but its necessary this time we think we found the spot. I left the studio salon I owned in Brooklyn under the control of my assistant and just bought a new property out here. It’s been under renovation for a couple of weeks now and every day i’m unpacking boxes, theres a few problems with plumbing, stressing me the f*k out but I’m down to the last few details left before my grand opening party”

Soho: you can just put that box down over there, anything else I need to sign for? Delivery Guy: one more, I have the sinks on the truck that you ordered Soho: finally, what took those shit’s so long?, bring them in (delivery guy laughs and walks out of salon, business inspector walks in) Inspector: goodmorning ms.macchio (soho rolls eyes) Soho: perfect .. this bitch is just who i wanna see ..(under breath)

Soho: hi, how you doing? Inspector: good, you know .. just doing a random property inspection Soho: hope you didn’t come to bring me bad news? Inspector: well it depends, lets have a look. (once Soho shows inspector around the salon, they take a seat in Soho’s office to discuss)

Inspector: So everything looks good except for the the pipes, they are still not connecting to each other which makes it hard too … Soho: (interrupts) so how much is this gonna cost me? I just spent 600 fucking dollars on a new plumbing system Inspector: (looks uneasy) honestly, I’m not sure but it could be anywhere from 800-1,500 and could take up to two weeks to repair Soho: fuck … i thought i fixed this issue, i really don’t have time .. Inspector: Im sorry ms.macchio but without that fixed, i just can’t let you open Soho: (blank stare) Ill call you …  

“this chick has to be out her rabbid ass mind if she thinks I have two weeks to fix those damn pipes. I need this salon open in two days, I’m loosing money as we speak and I have clients that have appointments for the opening … now I need somebody to come and get this shit done"

The day was almost up for Vanity, kid’s were already being picked up by their parent’s and there were only a few left. It didn't bother her that her mommies were late, she was absentminded and carefree, so she would wait patiently and play with bunny until they came. When Ms.Stevens told Vanity to get her thing’s she ran over to her cubby and grabbed her backpack excited to see her parent’s but noticed that it wasn't either of her mommy’s that stood next to her teacher. Vanity looked from the teacher and the woman in confusion as they spoke a few words before the woman kneeled down to Vanity. Niyah: Hi Vanity, do you know who i am? Vanity shook her head no and looked at the lady with a frown. Vanity: Where's mommy? Niyah frowned, she wished her daughter knew her as mommy, this had been the first time she was up close and personal with her daughter before she got arrested and now seeing her she would stop at nothing to be with her. She sighed knowing she would have to deal with those questions that she didnt want to answer but it wasnt going to be easy to gain a toddlers trust. Niyah: Im a family friend, you can call me aunty, okay? They asked me to pick you up. Vanity still held her confusion because she knew not to talk to strangers but in her little mind rationalized if she was dangerous then her teacher wouldnt have let her near. Vanity: aunty .. She started and Niyah shook her head excitedly. Niyah: Yes! you got it. are you hungry? lets go get you a burger and some cookies and ice cream, ok? Knowing any child's desire Niyah grabbed Vanitys hand who was now smiling from ear to ear. Niyah looked over her shoulder to wave bye to the teacher who smiled back oblivious to what she had just done.
