That was the longest “two weeks” of our lives. After patiently waiting, we are happy to announce we will be officially reopening on Wednesday, July 7th under Ontario’s second stage of its three stage reopening plan. Existing clients waiting to be rescheduled will be contacted directly between June 30th-July 7th and accommodated in chronological order. For all new inquiries, we ask that you refrain from emailing until July 7th and onward where we’ll then gladly reconvene bookings for new projects. Availability is dependent on each artist and may be required to follow-up at a later date to be accommodated. Thank you for your support, patience and understanding during our closure. We’re so grateful to everyone who purchased merch, gift cards, shared our work and left comments and likes. We appreciate all of you. Born in Tsurumaki, Japan, Hideo Kakimoto aka Horihide (1929-2017) was one of Japan’s most prolific traditional tattoo artists. Self-taught, Horihide started tattooing at the age of 22 with a career spanning 60 years; completing an estimated 500 large scale pieces ranging from sleeves, back pieces and full body suits. Influential to Japanese tattooing’s introduction to western culture, Horihide is considered to be a driving force having implemented traditional motifs and styles still seen today. Horihide tattooed up until his death but his legacy lives on through his body of work, books, and the generation of artists he’s inspired since. The Last Dance - Original 30”x60” acrylic on canvas painting done by resident artist @squidzink_. “This painting was inspired by the phrase ‘dance with the devil’ and ‘teasing death’. The story I was imagining while painting is about a woman who was engaging in a risky behaviour and was greeted by death. The two fall in love and have a dance; but death being death, accidentally kills her by his touch.
