Mike felt Blaine’s hand hold onto his cheek and smiled, leaning into the touch a little. “I do, too.” He replied. “But, you know, as long as you keep seeing me as this amazing person, I think I’ll be alright. As much as I love my dad, your opinion is what matters most to me.” He stated honestly. Mike hated that he had been under so much pressure recently from his dad. Sometimes he wondered why his dad just couldn’t be like his mom. His mom understood his dreams and what they meant to him. She even encouraged him to go for his dreams, even moreso due to the fact that when she was younger she had given up her dreams of dancing. He just wished his dad could be like that.
Mike scoffed a little bit. “Didn’t know you were that special? Please, you’re well aware of how special you are to me. Special enough to make me completely forget to check for movies showing currently for us to see.” He shook his head a little and laughed. “I understand the feeling.” Mike responded back to him. “In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if, within the first thirty minutes of that movie, I’m already touching you all over.” He gave Blaine a playful wink. Mike’s smile got bigger at the little kiss he had gotten from Blaine for opening his door. “Hmm, I agree.” Mike nodded his head. “Something scary sounds excellent.” As they entered inside, Mike immediately got them tickets for the first somewhat scary movie he saw playing. “Is this one alright?” He asked Blaine. “We could get some stuff from the concession stand too, if you want.” Mike offered.
Blaine gave Mike a sad kind of smile, brushing his thumb across Mike's cheekbone. "It's impossible for me not to see how amazing you are. Always has been. Even before we started dating and I was just pining for you." He knew that there were no magic words he could say to make Mike feel better about his dad's lack of support, but he wished there was. Because he hated seeing Mike hurt at all. Especially when Blaine knew intimately just how much this stuff hurt. But he was still going to hold out hope that Mike Chang Sr. would figure it out someday. Just how impossibly talented and wonderful his son was.
"Okay," Blaine said with a laugh, squeezing Mike's hand. "I totally knew I was that special." He patted his chest with his free hand, feeling the locket Mike had given him there against his skin. Blaine raised an amused eyebrow when Mike winked at him, feeling a pleasant warmth pool in his chest. "I hope you know I'm clocking you now, Chang. See how long you can go without touching me." He nodded his agreement to the movie, because it barely mattered to him, just overjoyed to be doing something not work or school and with Mike. "I could go for some Junior Mints," he replied dragging Mike toward the concession stand. He leaned up and whispered into Mike's ear mischievously, "Want to be all minty fresh for the epic make out session we will soon be embarking on."
