If you were to go back to the start of this assessment, what would you do differently?

honestly, if i was to redo this task, the only thing i would do differently is to start animating earlier. the animation took the most time, coming out at around 48 hrs in total, so starting it sooner would have been a better choice. other then that, i would not do anything else differently, i am happy with how every other aspect worked out and what i have achieved.

run cycle - 2 hr

so i did have enough time to do a run cycle but i did rush it a little. in the end though it actually looks really good

i though i would show you what the set up for this part looks like.

rendering - ever segment takes about 10 mins to render out as render passes

here i am begging to render out the animations to start playing around with them in after effect and premier

here i’m just working on importing the flip books and creating the materials for them, it actually quite a fun part of it all, seeing the animation come alive in the 3D environment i cant wait to start rendering it all out

render passes

i only decided to use two render passes; final image and ambient occlusion.

i did experiment with a few others, like scene depth, but found that ambient occlusion and final image was all i really needed for a decent looking animation.

experimentation - 3 hrs

here i have imported three separate animations. at first i was gonna try and put the all within the same material and have them turn on and off when i needed the, but after some experimenting, i didn't work. so i have opted instead to render out each animation segment on its own, stitch the render passes together then edit each part together in premier. the process will take a bit but the end result should be excellent. here i decided to show all the animation active at once.

THE FINAL - over all time 96 hrs

here it is the final. i am absolutely thrilled with how this has turned out. now i know its not the greatest thing ever created, but it the greatest thing I've created, and i am very proud with what i have achieved. i had fun making this, i did run out of time a little at the end and ha to rush some of the animation, but i feel it still turned out to be e pretty decent animation. i have added a sound effect to the final, i felt without it, it was a little strange. it may not show but i work quite hard on this, and im glad i was able to finish it. initially i wasn't going to include the run at the end, but i’m glad i managed to get it in there at the end.

final integration / render - 6 hrs

so here is the final first part of the project i am doing. i have fixed the lighting, i still does look a little strange, but i love it anyway.

animation integration / render - 4 hrs

so here is the first part of the project animated, integrated, rendered and edited, an can i say i am extremely happy with this, i think it looks great. now there is a bit of a problem with the lighting so i will have to go back and fix it, which is gonna take another 2 hrs but thats fine, i want it to look as good as possible.

animation - 4 hrs (including rough stages)

so here is a part of the animation for the turn towards the camera, i decided to animate it in two part as to keep the quality of the image size relatively high. i am happy with what i achieved here, and am now moving on to the next part of the animation.

run intergation - 3 hrs

so i do not know why this animation looks like it is in slow motion, but i experiment with it for a while in unreal and was unable to change it, but its the end of the project and i guess this will have to do. overall i am happy with it, i just wish it didn’t look out of place compared to the other parts of the animation

final animation - 2 hrs

he is this part of the animation complete, now i have to integrate it into unreal as a flip book animation

animation - 2hr

this is a rough animation for the part where the character has a little fright and turns to run away. at this point, this could be the final animation i do for this, because as of yet i might not have time to add in the final animation where the character runs away. i would like to include it, so if i time i will

animation integration - 3 hr

so the is the final part for the head turing towards the camera. the environment lighting does appear different, but it is exactly the same, this angle just makes it appear different. iff i was to go back and redo it i would change the light to make it appear like the same scene, but im running out of time so iv got to keep moving forward with this project and if there is enough time at the end i will surly fix this slight lighting issue. but overall i am very happy with this outcome and i am still excited to see the final piece.
