wow okay imma get this coding thing right one way or another
seyoon !
she asks the hard questions immediately. a click, grind of teeth against candy, stick shockingly white from between chapped lips, pallid skin, the inky black that drapes them until they look as a vantablack hole in the endless, empty sky. seyoon’s eyes drag across her. curious but not unkind. they sometimes wonder just how difficult it is to read them, if it’s the same frustrations they have when picking apart the words of nearly all that speak and expect their reaction. a
at first they shrug. simple and flavorless, as passive as the soft winds that no amount of skyscrapers could fully cut away from seoul’s wide, honeycomb streets.
“it’s just a thing.” seyoon finally says. in some ways it sounds uncertain. as if they expect her to undermine them, correct them, catching the threads that they’re all so uncertain about despite being tucked away so neatly.
seyoon rubs a hand over the back of their neck. knees bumping cool metallic bars, the sort of decorative things meant to keep people from jumping into the flowing river beneath. they’ve never felt the urge. seen others who have, swallowed it, and then kept moving forwards.
in the water, a hiccup breaks otherwise flawless motion. they choose to believe it was a fish.
“…that’s fine.” a slight hesitation. thank you – it doesn’t come easily, seyoon tends to choke on those words. nodding as a cheap replacement as they slide their hands back into their pockets. cold weather nowhere near passing quite yet, leaving calloused fingertips nearly blue by the time they let the chill effect them. “if you want.”
she has a job, a purpose. distantly they know better than to pry her away from that for something as easily forgotten as today.
she listens again, ears tickled at the sound of teeth gnawing at the crystalline candy, the sugars being powdered into a fine dust- this couldn’t have been purely sugar. her eyes remained shut as she listened, palms shifting to rest one atop the other on the railing and pillow her head. if her position would have allowed it, she would have nodded at their voice. just a thing... she doesn’t let the vagueness, their uncertainty sway her; noël has a very similar personality there’s always so much on the mind of those who speak so little. she loved listening, and with just the right amount of poking and prodding she could draw the most out of him... but this was seyoon, and how much was too much? she keeps the silence, uncomfortably long. when her eyes finally open, she takes the time to look at the other.
beautiful eyes, impossibly more intense than her own. an effulgence radiates from their eyes that confirm the warmness she felt to be the burning sensation of their gaze. yes, actions from the other are indeed powerful and carry a grace that exceeds far beyond her own. it is almost otherworldly, though she wonders, if in another world, would they doubt their worth so?
she wonders, yet, what makes a god, and who was she to determine whether they were like one or not?
she is far too ahead of herself, she is not yet well aware of south korean culture, mythology, what’s real and what’s not.
‘ of course, i want to. ‘ she has regained the confidence in her voice, the superiority in her tone.
her hands reach out to grab his, her body warm and blood pumping, though she pauses mid-air. it is a feigned warmth, cheap convenience store pocket warmers are tucked away in her clothes. hands curl back to herself, slipping into her own pockets. eyes shift down to his own but for a moment, paused for a chance to put color back into them, this motive doesn’t escape her mind, however.
‘ you know, i don’t really like modelling so much. ‘ the thought of abandoning it all had crossed her mind several times. she had always imagined herself designing buildings like those of her home, she wondered when society had switched from the detailed and romantic architectural designs to the minimalist ones today.
a shrug, ‘ i don’t mind skipping out for something better. ‘ something more important.
too picky to be a ho
ok yall got my attention now
if you have a wishlist like this n i’ll slide in ur dms and we can figure something out
surrounded upon one side by city, the other by river, there’s a certain sort of piece that makes lungs stretch wide and nostrils flare with an odd level of clean oxygen contracted with mint asphalt and gasoline skies. how often it’s hard to tell which scents more familiar, the nature or what which earth is covered with, the growing of human society. seyoon’s eyes flutter shut for a moment with the deep push of oxygen.
when they open, a child sprints by, pairs with soft eyes and rich winter coats that will be out of season in weeks.
seyoon skirts them with a delicate sort of attention. an urge to take their hands and feel the softness there chased away as their fingers reach into the thick, pouch like pocket of their hoodie. even now they keep their rabbit hidden there, a small companion for short trips or long ones. she snuffles. careless of the cold. warm on their fingers as they come to a dragged halt, the familiarity of this silhouette what makes their legs slide still and their eyes linger on her, upon the water, distant.
“mm.”
less words, but she knows them enough to be aware it’s hardly personal. silence is pleasant. seyoon speaks better with the body than the tongue, in this there’s no change. they seem to hesitate. peering at her with more focus than before, wordless for long enough that birds fill the space. water laps at stone it will some day chew completely through.
“’m older.” seyoon finally settles on, blinking slowly as they look back at the ripples of water below them both. “today.”
there is a small tense in her posture to their voice, a slight tingling in her ear to the change in breathing. a short click of her tongue as she leans on the railing, palm pressed into her cheek. what was it like to be reminded of another passing day another passing year? to have collected so many experiences and have grown so far only to not have a feeling that could define its significance... was it significant?
her ears listen out for the sound of a candy wrapper, half adjusted to the crinkling scraps mid conversation more so than the sound of their voice. she watches as the light plays with the splashing water, inhaling the humid air while fingertips of her free hand trail the guard. the metal is cool to the touch, and she wonders just how little man interacts with man-made objects.
she lets out a soft sigh in her next phrase, ‘ oh ? ‘
fingers that once danced on the railing came to a pause, ring finger the sole digit in contact while the rest stilled in midair.
‘ is that supposed to be a bad thing ? ‘ hazel eyes flickered to the side, studying the other from a peripheral view.
‘ every day that passes by is a fresh start; every new year is a new beginning. qui vivra verra. ’
she pauses realizing through a slip of the tongue that there was a possibility that this indeed could have been. she mentally shrugs it off regardless,
‘ happy birthday, seyoon, ‘ she half-whispers, drawing out their name with a faint fondness. how did they feel, how did they want to feel? she wanted them to feel happy. a tightness drew in her chest and she frowned; she wanted to be of some help, if at all possible, to her friend. was that now an appropriate term?
‘ i’ d love to do something for you. ‘ she laughed, lashes falling just beyond her lids as she tried to make her claim sound less superficial, ‘ even if it’s just spending a quiet morning with you. ‘
@neonnoise !
it was still early in the morning, too early for the sun to be bothered with the chore of lighting the sky. day or night could make no difference; she couldn’t rest outside of in-between photoshoot naps. instead, she opted to again compare the streets of seoul to her home. she walked slowly, for today her body was exhausted: it was still unused to the new time zone and presented its refusal to conform through the puffiness around her eyes and the soft sotto voce of her normally crisp and confident voice. noemi crossed corners and passed through ‘ secret ‘ alleys and flickering street lights until she could admit to herself that she was lost.
she remained unconcerned, the lights rippling off of the river were enough to let her know she hadn’t strayed too far. still, a chill air unlike that of the morning breeze managed to skim by. she caved seconds later, hazel eyes finally turning to decipher the new presence as good or evil.
she had not stepped out in anything flashy enough to entice any pursuers: velvet boots covered her just a few centimeters above the knee, to which a coat of similar fashion hung over her thighs. her face was bare and her hair tousled into a makeshift bun.
her head tilted at the sight of the twin, almost surprised she hadn’t realized sooner.
‘ good morning. ‘ she managed, turning half-back to the water. there was an interesting aura over the other, and while she normally attempted to refrain from prying in a proper social setting, this morning was... different. and... they had found her here.
‘ what’s on your mind right now ? ‘ she asked gently, her tone reassuring and soft, though nowhere near pitying.
indie roleplayers really be like a 5x5 icon on a 200x container theme like
she gazed across the threshold with her i c y blue orbs, glittering and glimmering tears touching the edges. her mouth, pink and sweet with lies, fell open. she ogles him then whispers, “do you want some TACO BELL”
