no more humanity for me im just this guy forever:

"i thought endermen hated endermites?" i never said i liked jeremy
dude i dont think you should have beef with your emotional support dog
the emotion he supports is rage
My anthropologist partner dislikes the 1.20 update because it refers to pieces of pottery as "shards" rather than the correct term, "sherds"
I like how there’s just this small group of people being a “little” upset about the shard and sherd thing. I’m reblogging every single one of them
Fyi if you don’t already know, shard is broken pieces of glass and sherd is broken pieces of ceramic
Good News
Anthropology win.
This texture pack replaces the stripped bark hyphae blocks with a carved wood design. The end of the block has 1 carving, and the side has a
This pack is super super good. Personally, I feel there's basically no reason to use stripped bark blocks instead of regular stripped logs, so really this is just repurposing them to give them a lot more flair.
Cobblemon is suuuuch a cute mod, I can't get over the style of models they use....kinda makes me wanna have a go at blockbench again
Oh! These are quality!

This minecraft short comic called "A strange Coast" made by Ian Flynn I believe, I found in a book from my library I work has to be one of the most beautiful and respectful takes on the game.
It understands minecradf so perfectly and doesn't treat it as childishly as the other stories in it did.
And all that within 10 pages and no word spoken.
Nether Portal day / night
Woahg. beautiful. I’m obsessed with the way you’ve realized that and made it look like real obsidian. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any art of a nether portal like this before.
An Apology
We at Mojang try to keep our translations as accurate as possible, but recently, a small mistranslation has slipped through the cracks.
We are a Swedish dev team, after all, so miscommunications sometimes occur with our English-speaking members!
With that in mind, here are the emergency patch notes for the changes coming in the next update:
Renamed cherry trees to testicle trees
anyone else scared of single player minecraft. not just like oh it’s scary to mine alone. but the odd paranoia that there is another user there. that you’ll be playing alone and leave your house and there’s a person standing there. or you’re mining and there’s a user standing in the path you mined that leaves when you see it
God I thought I was the only one
i literally can never play for long before getting that genuine weird fear and exiting the game :(
are you scared of herobrine
Honestly Minecraft is so eerie because of that loneliness. I have always seen the “story” of Minecraft as Steve’s fruitless search for other survivors, wandering the landscape, following maps and unearthing ruins and hoping to signal to someone else—anyone else—that he is here, that he’s alive.
For example, the Beacon has obvious utility for the player, but in the story, it seems much more like it would be built as a signal to others.
It is made more eerie by the fact that the creatures he encounters are misshapen mirrors of a human form. The villagers are clearly evolved either from humans or a human-like ancestor, but are not themselves human. Drowned and Zombies perhaps were once human, but unlike zombie villagers, it seems that they cannot be cured. (Maybe he will find a way. Maybe, maybe.)
The Endermen are peaceful when respected, if unnerving. They used to frighten him, but he has been alone for so long; the empty horizon that once held hope has become so unwelcoming that the garbled syllables of these flitting black figures are almost a comfort. He talks back to them, seeing patterns in the handful of noises they repeat that aren’t there.
He has followed the clues left in the ruins, piecing together doors to the hellish, inhospitable realms the previous inhabitants of this world must have tried to escape to, and encountered incomprehensible beings. He has discovered weapons and ancient texts imbued with magic and learned to replicate it.
It has been so long. He has traveled so far, from the harsh, unforgiving lands of the desert, over mountains and into sticky jungles, and there is never a new clue, a new signal, something, anything left that might indicate that there are survivors.
So what would he think, if he saw someone appear, standing in the doorway of the fortress he has built over the years, someone human? Someone else, after so long spent searching? After so long spent knowing, deep, deep down, that there is no one else left?
What is more likely? That he would think this is a surviving human, incomprehensibly, after all this time?
Or that this is yet another being, in a world of magic and strange power, that once was human, or is trying to be human, or is not quite human, that is just
better than the others at pretending?
ok, here’s my cool new minecraft challenge. it’s called fury road. you go on single biome mode and set it to desert.
If you want trees, you have to find an npc selling saplings. If you want grass, you have to find an existing paddock in a village and then mine additional dirt blocks out of the earth. make the green place yourself.
a japanese guy who made a bunch of creepy pasta videos a long time ago (you’ve probably seen Youtube666, he made that) is playing through minecraft for the first time and he’s not using any guides or anything other than the in-game guidebook and he’s fucking. doing it in such a buddhist way.
like, he’s so patient and detached from all of the stuff he’s gotten.
in the newest episode he destroyed 14566 blocks of bridge and blew up his original house just because he learned about xyz coordinates by accidentally pressing F5 and he wanted his house to be at the X:0 coordinate.
also look at this quarry. it’s his 5th quarry.
look at this absolute fucking massive hole.
and it’s not like “HELLOOOOO EVERYBODY WHAT IS UP, TODAY WE’RE GONNA BE PLAYING MIIIIIINECRAAAAFT” he’s just like. a quiet 30 year old japanese man who speaks very precisely and politely. and he even does his own english captions which are overlayed on the video and he uses emoticons like (0u0)/
he’s so wonderful and cute.
please watch at least like 5 minutes of this.
i PROMISE you you’ll smile.
i’ve been keeping track of piropito’s minecraft series since the beginning and i can promise you all 76 episodes and counting are well worth the watch because it’s incredible the LENGTHS this guy goes to learn and explore without help from others.
some highlights:
-spends literal HOURS upon HOURS building these long, seemingly endless bridges because he wants to reach “the ends of the earth”
-around episode 40, he’s learned the ins and outs of redstone but doesn’t realize you can sleep in your bed.
-the noises he makes when he’s afraid of enemies/dies are precious and gentle and not at all what you’d expect from a famous horror artist
-spends hours trading resources with villagers to get glass only to find out almost 50 episodes in that you can make glass from sand
-destroys several mountains of sand in the desert to not only fuel his love for glass, but also because “explosions are sugoi 0u0″
-sees a silverfish and
-builds a giant “machine” that runs on redstone, minecarts, and pistons that pushes colored sand through a massive glass window. it doesn’t do anything, it just pushes all the blocks to the bottom and breaks after a few minutes. piro seems very pleased with it.
-makes these complex shapes/structures in an attempt to create a nether portal, doesn’t realize it’s just a rectangle
-a fan made a skin just for him, complete with 0u0 face
-falls in lava multiple times, never gives up
-builds a giant coin pusher game for funsies
-NANI KORE?
-in short i beg of you to watch this gentle man play minecraft blind it’s so fascinating
thrilling sequel
