Grace comes from a long line of Druids that were around long before vampires founded Cresthill. As the years passed they watched the town pop up around them so they were forced out of their hiding places in the woods and thrust into society. But they still stuck to their old ways.
Grace’s mother, Lily, died when she was a little girl, leaving her to be raised by her great aunt Rosa who she called Auntie Rosie. Rosie was the only close relative that Grace had, for all the others had died, live off the grid completely, or had long since exited her life.
Though Grace’s family has nothing laid out in stone, the line of druids that she comes from has some unspoken traditions. The line is primarily passed on through the females. They do not marry. They have at most three children. Preferably one daughter. Most children are conceived from a one night stand rather then having any serious relationships.
It’s not sure what took Lily’s life, but they suspect some sort of poisoning done from one of her lovers.
Her aunt Rosa was much more of a rebel then most of Grace’s family, which paved the way for Lily and Grace to follow in her steps.
Rosa owned and ran Madame Rosa’s Herb Emporium.
Now that Aunt Roise has passed on, at the age of 120, though many in the town believe was only 85.
Grace has two “familiars”. One, her true familiar, is a Canada Jay who she named Gray. The other is a tabby cat named Arlo who she got a few years ago. Arlo is truthfully her pet, tho to those who know that Grace is a caster she insists on calling him her familiar.
When Grace was 19, turning 20, she met Balthazar and it was love at first sight for the young castor much to the dismay of Auntie Rosa. The young girl was willing to push the limits, just as her great aunt had. Only this was one area where Rosie was very strict. It was better not to fall in love, because the men in their life never could, or would, stay. And when Rosa found out he was a vampire, it was even worse. He could not give Grace any daughters to carry on their magical line. With Rosie in her ear, Gracen broke up with Balthazar and then left town for years trying to put together the pieces of her heart.
Now, with the passing of her Great Aunt, Grace is back in town to take over Madame Rosa’s shop and maybe get back to some semblance of normal.
