Sansa propped herself up on her elbows as she listened to her sister. She knew Arya was one who wouldn’t sit in the sidelines and let things happen, but making a list to kill people hadn’t been something that she expected. However, it didn’t surprise her. Sansa, in a way, had a list of her own.
Arya had lost her sight instead of losing herself… Part of it made Sansa want to cry, but the other made her proud of her sister. The latter won out. She lightly touched Arya’s hand before squeezing it. She didn’t know what to say for once either. In King’s Landing, she always had a pleasantry to respond with. Maybe because she didn’t actually care about how others felt, but more because she was keeping herself out of attention and out of harms way.
“Arya…” Sansa said her name softly, but it was filled with pride. “I’m sorry you lost your sight… But… It would have been worse to lose yourself.” Sansa knew that to be true. She had lost herself for a time in King’s Landing. Only when escaping it and taking a risk, had she found herself again. Had she found the wolf that she knew to be true. “I’m proud of you.” She leaned forward and kissed her forehead.
“It can’t be restored, but it won’t stop me from taking our home back, protecting you and making anyone who suggests we do otherwise pay for it,” Arya hugged her sister though. “You have my word on that. You won’t be in danger again,” She hated to think of her sister alone in King’s Landing. “We should have been kinder to one another when we were children, but we will make up for it now.” She suggested hoping her sister felt the same. Everything so far seemed to suggest that she did.
Her expression softened some as she laid back down, drawing Sansa close so that she would know her sister was there and safe until morning. “And at least once we do take our home back, no one shall try to make me sit for needlework lessons again,” She teased, hoping to cut the tension in the room and help Sansa to rest easy.
“I am proud of you too,” She added. “Very proud. I wouldn’t have survived in King’s Landing. I think even Father knew that.”
