for the record this also includes people's reading on their relationship. avery isn't some hapless fool who pathetically trusts julius because they're just so lonely, and julius is not some nefarious, possessive manipulator who has ill-intentions towards avery. maybe you can cherrypick instances and contort them around in your mind to be that way, but it's nonsensical when you look at the entire picture of their friendship, read the existent text, and pay attention to how they talk to and about each other.
