I'm rereading AWW and I've got to give you kudos for the exasperated dad energy Balinor gives off whenever he interacts with Merlin, especially in chapter 28. It makes me so happy.

Exasperated!Balinor will be the norm in Arc 2 😁. He has three troublesome children apprentices to take care of now. Although, yes, his not-son will be one of the main causes of his exasperation.

I’ve been a fan of Merlin for over 10 years now and at the beginning of 2021 I decided to record a Podfic for one of my all time fav fanfic : A Warlocks Wish by vivid past ✨

Hi! I've just finished arc 1 of a warlock's wish - I'm really loving it so far. But I have a question - it's probably a stupid one - but, if you DO go the merthur route, will it be merlin an arthur of the magic!verse or arthur of the not-magic!verse?

For this one, honestly, still largely undecided 😆. But the question I keep asking myself is — why not both 😏?

Hi there! I've been reading WW and I was wondering, if everyone's so curious about Merlin and where he came from, why not just go to Ealdor and ask around? Maybe you already addressed this but it's like he's secretive about where he's from... Thank you so much for writing the story, I love it so much!! 💛 💛 💛

Well, it’s going to be revealed in the next chapter (which is going to be up soon!) but someone DID go to Ealdor 😉.

Hahaha, I daydram about AWW too, although not as much as I should which accounts for the slow updates lol. Real life was stressful for a while but I got through it! Hope real life isn’t stressful for you too ❤️.

Hello! Just wanted to let you know that I adore “A Warlock’s Wish” and eagerly await each chapter, but I have a question. King Arthur’s wish was: “I want him out of my lamp and safety by my side.” This sent Merlin to Magical Camelot because the Djinn took every word into account. So in Magical Camelot, why does Merlin wake up in a forest when the wish states “by [Arthur’s] side?” Why didn’t the Djinn dump Merlin next to Prince Arthur? Just curious.

I thought no one would notice until I managed to get the explanation out in the story 😆. Well, I can’t answer in detail because that would spoiler-ish. One hint is: Merida didn’t spawn in her village too because she spawned in the exact same spot.

Hopefully, I’ll present the full explanation out three chapters from now. 😆. Thank you so much for the interest and for this message! 🥰

Hello! Been a long time follower of AWW and still love it. Glad to see the Merlin-Balinor relationship grow, that we couldn't see in canon. My question is: do you plan to explore this changed Gaius-Merlin dynamic as well? Would love to see it later flourish even tho obviously they interact less. (Also lowkey would adore a sceene where Merlin stuns ppl w his herbology knowledge or even better: uses the special difficult spell of bringing ppl back from the verge of death and everyone is like wtf)

Gaius-Merlin is definitely on the agenda, although not as much as Balinor-Merlin. And there are still definitely a few more non-magical BAMF!Merlin in the future 😉. He was the physician’s apprentice and the king’s manservant.

I’m glad you’re still following AWW. AWW is probably the slowest fanfic in existence 🤣.

Really love your AWW series and I even shared it with my friend and she absolutely loved it. Speaking of, I’m all for Merlin spending time with his not-dad Balinor and I’m really excited to see what you have in store for them. But is it in the realm of possibility, perchance, that alternate-Gaius will fight for his not-son Merlin? Of course, studying under Balinor is far more useful to Merlin having to 1vEveryone because his prat of a Best friend thinks you can win a war on magic without magic, but...but... not-dad Balinor vs. not-dad Gauis... like considering the amount of potential Merlin has, I can’t see Gaius not being interested in it... Also, I was wondering if you ever considered writing your own original story considering how amazing your writing is? Hope you have a nice day ;)

Not-dad Gaius will definitely have his moment! Although I admit not-dad Balinor will have more moments. Not-dad Gaius will have to wait for his chance to shine, meaning when some Merlin whump occurs. God, I just remembered only 1 week have passed since the Apprentice Exam and uggh, why is my pace so slow.

I actually am writing several original stories right. And I am not finishing any one of them 😆. I love writing fanfic too much right now. But maybe someday, when AWW is finished or if my muse loses interest in it or someone finally adopts it, I can finally finish an original story. Thank you so much for the praise!

Dear author, in my humble opinion, even if your readers find a plot hole, that would simply be your view of the story, you as the author by seeing that hole, you might find new ideas to improve the plot or you would even just find one reason the hole was there to begin with. I feel that this is the power of the author to shape the story and you have it to spare 🌟greetings, have a good day.😆

That’s so true!! One of the things I like about writing is being able to reshape the whole world and just let the characters stumble around in it. AWW is probably the most overthink-ed world in my arsenal, and I don’t even know how I had the brain power to worldbuild it 😂

Well, we’ll get a glimpse of Balinor’s and Arthur’s (and the Spymaster’s) POV on it definitely 😉. Although, they each have their own plan of action for it.
