Rude! Why are you so mean to me, Matlin? But, ew. I don’t want a pumpkin spice latte.
I'm sorry, Campbell Saunders. What can I do to make it up to you? You have to try their chocolate chai latte. It is pure heaven.

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty sweet deal! You don’t seem to enthused, but I could just be anxious. Good I brushed them for you, heh.
Okay, are we really talking about my teeth?… Because no offense, Maya, but that’s kind of weird.
What was your end of the bargain? You're just anxious. We can go out for some fancy French coffee and croissants. Shouldn't you brush them anyways?
No offense, but you're lame.
Yeah.. Gross. You should be complaining.
You're the grossest thing I've ever met. Maybe a pumpkin spice latte could help you.
I think so, yeah. Lights? That should be a good one.
So, what genres do you like to listen to?
There is literally pumpkin-everything everywhere. Not that I'm complaining.
A couple of the guys at school funded me to Paris. You don’t look to happy… What is there something in my teeth, or…?
That's nice of them. I'm happy.... just really, really surprised. Your teeth are fine, Zig.
What toothpaste are you using? They're awfully white.
Are you surprised to see me? I hope you didn’t wet your pants or anything! I just wanted to do something special for you.. so here I am!
Zig? How did you get here? I am most definitely surprised to see you... Thank you?
How to Heal a Broken Heart || blondematlin and zigmnd
Zig was mad, to say the least. Never in a million years did he think that Tori and Cam would be the types to cheat, especially with each other, but he didn’t have much to say about it all. He never really liked Cam, and he never thought he was a good fit for Maya. Zig genuinely did like Tori, but his tolerance for her slowly began to be erased as he learned about this new side of her that he had never scene. He needed to be strong, though. Not just for himself, but for Maya, too. He could tell that she was caught off guard that her seemingly perfect boyfriend would do such a thing, and he didn’t want her to be hurt. This whole thing was stupid, and he just wished that they could go back in time and stop themselves from even dating the two. They deserved each other, and he just had to keep reminding himself of that. Zig agreed to go out with Maya for the night, and he was excited to finally get out of the house and get his mind off things. He was tired of thinking and stressing, and he just wanted to have some fun again. Stripping off his shirt, he roamed around his room and looked for a clean one, slipping his arms through and then his head, straightening it into place. He ran a comb through his hair, making it look neater than it was and smiled at himself in the mirror, happy with his own appearance. He told his mom where he was going, and she gave him a bag of ketchup potato chips, Maya’s favorite, and a few candy bars.
Heading out, he grabbed the bag of snacks and hummed a Whisper Hug song under his breath as he walked to the park, happy to see the blonde he was once so close to before all the relationship drama got in the way. When he got there, he went over to the bench he saw Maya perched on and gave her a warm smile, “Hey, May!” He said cheerfully, hoping his happy spirit would rub off on her, “I got your favorite chips and some chocolate. My Mom said that this is the perfect thing a girl could use,” he went on, hoping he wasn’t making a fool out of himself, “But… How are you?” He said, his voice a bit softer now as his foot kicked at the grass beneath his feet.
Maya turned her head nonchalantly to greet the voice that had called her name. "Zig!" she jumped up and scanned the items in his hands. "Mama Novak is a wise woman," the blondie said with a small laugh, watching Zig kick the grass. "I'm fine, how are you?" She put a caring hand on his shoulder, rubbing his arm. "They don't matter though, we have each other and a huge supply of junk food. The day couldn't get better." Maya linked her arm in his and grabbed her own bags of chips as they headed down the park pathway. It felt nice to have her arm attached to the crook in his, it gave her a sense of comfort. She knew Zig was there for her, and that he genuinely cared. The thing with Cam is that she didn't know who he was inside, their entire relationship was just trial and error. Maybe Cam just wanted to experiment, he was a teenage boy after all. But Cam also knew that Maya was in love with him, and he had her wrapped around his finger. Anger began festering within her, but it only took one look at Zig to stop her from boiling over.
"Thanks for being here." Maya said softly, half embarrassed and half relieved. She should never have dated Cam, perhaps Zig was the right path all along. "I don't really deserve you comforting me." Zig was her friend long before Cam came along. Zig was the first boy to ask her on a date, the first boy to really care about her. Maya can't remember what even attracted her to Cam - his puppy eyes? His cute, brown hair, the way it swooped to one side? She shook her head, cringing. He was a bad boyfriend, and he didn't matter anymore. Zig was here with her, and that all it took to make her happy.
We should go to a concert together or something soon! Y’know, since we can’t really play them anymore.
Wouldn't I love that? You have my number, right? I heard Lights is coming to Toronto.
Reunion || blondematlin and campbellscores
Campbell’s head moved slightly, indicating that he had heard Maya’s sweet, angelic voice. “Right! As long as you’re sure. I mean, I have my own money and everything, so you don’t have to pay.” He continued to babble on, giving the girl every opportunity possible to back out of paying for his meal. He couldn’t help but notice everything that had changed about the blonde—and an awfully lot had. Her sense of style, she had obviously gotten more taller and developed. Cam quickly darted his eyes away, not wanting her to notice that he was staring. He hadn’t been trying to gaze at the girl, but it was hard not to when he found her absolutely gorgeous. He did his best to push those thoughts away, reminding himself that the two were only friends. And that was most likely how it would always be. Maya probably had some guy with a bunch of muscles and tons of confidence wrapped around her finger; she wouldn’t want a runt like Campbell Saunders. “Those were the days.” The boy sighed in reminiscence. He could recall the early years fairly well, and missed them greatly. He would do anything to go back to his carefree days—even if it was just for a day.
"A gentleman?" Cam chuckled. "I’ve always been extremely polite. Have you forgotten my personality traits already, Matlin?" He questioned with a raise of his eyebrow. He followed the younger girl over to her chosen table, sitting down across from her. He took note that she had picked to sit near the window, and couldn’t help but look out into the streets of Toronto again. Campbell had missed this town oh-so much, and he was delighted to be back here. No where could compare to the place of his birth. At Maya’s question, his attention was quickly brought back to her hazel hues. "Never." He answered, obviously teasing. He smirked at her playfully, before continuing to speak as fast as he could. "Only kidding!" Cam exclaimed. "I thought about you every day. My parents hung a bunch of pictures of us as children around the house—so it was hard not to." He added with a sweet smile. "How often did you think about me?" Cam inquired, before hearing the pitter-patter of footsteps nearing their table. He looked over at the waitress, trying to remember what item of food the two teens had came here for. "You brought me here for their curly fries, yeah?" He asked Maya quickly. "We’ll take a basket of those, please." Cam told the waitress, flashing her a weak smile.
"But I want to pay!" Maya said with a gentle laugh, rummaging through her wallet to get her money ready first. She slammed the two 20 dollar bills on the table, sticking her tongue out at Campbell. He had that strange, void look in his eyes, the kind of look he got when he was deep in thought. Hopefully he was thinking about how much fun he was having. She pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, gazing shyly towards the puppy boy. She thought about how he probably was in love with a tall, beach blonde girl who actually knew how to put makeup on and she was in love with him too. No way would her childhood friend ever like her. Not a lot of words had been spoken for a few moments, and her heart skipped a beat every time she looked up and her eyes met his. "A lot. Everyday." Maya twiddled her thumbs, awkwardly trying to make conversation again. He could definitely tell she liked him. She wasn't even going to lie to herself anymore.
"Perhaps I've just been surrounded by meathead boys lately to remember how polite you are." She watched the waitress walk away, notepad in hand. "Bet you didn't have any of these cute cafes in whatever your old town was called." Maya looked up to the ceiling and furrowed her brows. "How do you even pronounce it?" The blondie grabbed her spoon and swirled it around in her water. She pretended it was soup, sipping the water out of the delicate, tiny spoon. His voice was so soft and gentle, like a warm blanket or something. All she wanted to do was hug him for 20 minutes straight, smell the sweaty cologne that spread fumes through his house, and tell him how much she missed him. Saying she missed him a lot was an understatement, but out of fear he didn't return the feelings, she chickened out. The waitress returned with a basket of the famous curly fries, quickly flashing a wink at Maya before she turned and briskly walked away. Colour rushed to her cheeks. She took a fry and dipped it in the ketchup that came with it, the warmth hurting her sensitized teeth. "Yum!" Maya said, flashing a thumbs up with the swing of her arm.

Little Matlin started to following me!
Oh nothing special, except that Eli is finally went to college. Otherwise I’m fine too, just a little lack of him but I’m fine thanks for asking. What’s the news?
Having long distance relationships is always hard. Nothing really, but I got a brand new cello! Not that that's of any interest to you.
Yes.. is that a bad thing? Should I go change my name?
Depends on how you want to look at it. Uh, I was Campbell Saunder's girlfriend?...
Text || My favorite.
Cam: Well, I do.
Cam: I have since forever.
Maya: Um, would you like to go on a real date with me?
Possibly.. But who cares? If anyone made fun of you, you could like just pick them up and throw them! Back in the day? How old are you eighty? It’s okay, I’ll teach you.
True, that would shut them up. I'm 93, actually. Thank you for mistaking me to be 13 years younger than I really am. Really?
