No. I’m saying that private schools actually provide a better education and public schools don’t.
You know why? Because it’s not a government run monopoly you’re forced to attend under threat of imprisonment. You actually have to make the choice to attend, and that means those schools have to offer something for you choose them; like an actual decent education and not just a glorified daycare for teenagers.
You know how I know this? Because charter schools are publicly funded but privately operated and contain way more minorities yet totally outcompete public schools and sometimes even private schools in academics.
Money plays it’s part, sure, but the real problem is public education is shit compared to private education. And it’s shit because the government doesn’t need to give you a good service to get your money.
Whaddya gonna do if your school sucks? Pull your kid out of school? You can’t homeschool them yourself and you’ll be imprisoned for truancy. Stop paying your taxes? They’ll imprison you for tax evasion. Call your representatives? They don’t give a shit about you, especially if you’re just one person.
So they can just shamelessly extort you and have been under the very guise of “improving education.”
