2000-2008 was an incredible era for games. But if you read the developer accounts, many of these studios had massive developer exoduses right after these huge hits. Instead of rewarding people who genuinely led those teams to glory, it was execs, investors, and publishers who patted each other on the back and now believed they deserve to have more direct control over development.

Literally the most cleansing event that could happen to the game industry is for GTA6 to fail horribly. And then Todd should release a new TES next year and fail equally horribly.
