Compliment, or Discrimination?
When I was in seventh grade, a boy from my class walked up to me and said, "You have beautiful eyes. Blue is my favorite color, and on you, it looks even better." Of course, I was flattered, but now, I feel regret. I should have reminded him that all eye colors are beautiful, and that he shouldn't make judgement about a girl just because of her eye color.
What seemed like a compliment was actually ECD in its most basic form.
This boy also later told me he was "only attracted to blue eyed girls."
Seventh grade, and this boy was only interested in people with blue eyes. This is Blue Privilege.
