suncat is based on a slug i found that had a big tumor looking growth on its side and it was also brown and yellow so I went "yeah. this could be a suncat"

when suneve arrived suncat's immune system got so fucked up. anyways she develops a weird tumor cyst thing because of it and the cult takes it as She didn't like this suncat despite suncat not actually doing anything to piss Her off

anyways now suncat is left to dwell on every tiny mistake she made in her life to try and figure out why She dislikes her (She does not dislike her. She's just 🟡) while she is actively dying

The intended guard for suncat died before suncat was born, so a senior guard took over. Since guard has guarded a suncat before, he's a lot more confident and knows what stupid hijinks he can get away with. (He's based on a snail that i found. it only had one eye and i thought it was cool)

Had to make a thing for a class and decided to make it suncat and guard

i made them by combining every family feature of all of sugarpaws relatives (and her) that show up more than once

If a trait only shows up once then i immediately assume it's from the other parent and i dont care. so goodbye kuutamo eartufts and guard's beautiful lashes

anyways list of the traits I added and which cat has them

Tuxedo - Yöhopea, Sugarpaws, Kuutamo (high white tho), Ratamo (subtle), Guard (subtle)

Blue - Ratamo, Guard

Black - Yöhopea, Sugarpaws, Kuutamo

Green almond eyes - Yöhopea, Sugarpaws, Ratamo

Fancy moustache - Ratamo, Guard

Scruffy fur - Ratamo, Guard

Thin brows - Yöhopea, Sugarpaws, Kuutamo, Ratamo, Guard

Itty bitty teeny tiny tail - Sugarpaws, Kuutamo

Stocky build - Yöhopea, Sugarpaws, Ratamo (maybe? hes so fluffy i can't tell)

White tail tip - Yöhopea, Ratamo

Black nose + mouth - Sugarpaws, Ratamo

Small ears - Sugarpaws, Yöhopea, Ratamo

Pointy ears - Sugarpaws, Yöhopea, Ratamo, Guard, Kuutamo(?)

oh i forgot. and trapezoid head - Sugarpaws, Yöhopea (Yöhopea's is less extreme though)

they live with Yöhopea's family and are so cool and god is actually in love with them but they dont acknowledge god and god is so sad about it and they can shoot lasers out of their eyes and everyone loves them

do you know how to get the photoshop lasso tool effect to work in something like clip studio? the lasso doesn't give that more geometric/blocky look and it makes replicating the juma style a bit harder :(

i use procreate but what i do is just.

i dont know how the lasso works in clip studio but yeah i just click from point to point for that blocky look

The name can be an english word or like. Human name so I can think of Finnish version of it

(unfortunately i only speak english (and few very badly pronounced words of swedish and hebrew) in addition to finnish so if the name is in some other language just tell me what it means in english)

If theres A LOT of these i cant do them all but my fellow Finnish people feel free to help me out!

She was once a rouge named Bowerbird, which is probably easier to translate since it's just a species of bird

I think swallows make cool nests so lets go with that

Swallow = Pääsky or pääskynen

Pilkku = spot (also comma) i think pilkku is smaller spot than täplä (another word for spot)

Here is my oc Aloe vaguely in the style of @jumalanpelko. It was so fun using the lasso tool to draw her, and I'll probably use it to draw things again because it was so fun

@bluebaris's jumalanpelko style breakdown post helped me a lot as well.

The symbol with the moon with the sun's rays coming off it is part of Aloe's lore. No I will not explain.
