I really am endlessly sad that Snape bullied those kids. I mean, this man is such a compelling character. A double agent, a yearner, an incredibly talented wizard. and yet, whenever I find myself starting to care about him, one of those scenes pops into my head where he's just relentlessly bullying children for no apparent reason. Like sure, how interesting that this man has such a capacity for hate and an equally large capacity for love. How sad that this insecure young boy felt so rejected by the world that he let himself get swept up in a violent cult. He's always sheming or manipulating someone, how cool, you just never know what he's really up to! But then, why the fuck did he feel the need to say that shit to Hermoine? I'm completely fine with morally grey behavior, a fan of it, even. But that is just loser shit, I don't know what else to make of it. Are there any severus stans who have figured out how to look at this in a way that doesn't make him a pathetic asshole? If so lmk, because I wan't to be able to care about Severus Snape. (Also any severus centric fic recs would be much appreciated)
