what are films that inspires the content you share?
frankly, i'm quite surprised i'm receiving questions like this.
i love this question as i love discussing film, art, and anything creative. there are lots of films that inspire me and the content i share and that translates through the work i do.
the films i watch mainly consist of french new wave, anything from the 20s to 90s and films i find romantically controversial and thought-provoking.
these are my top ten films (i didn't add french new wave: there's just too much)
peppermint soda (1977—this is my favourite film)
the dreamers (2003—i love louis garrel and eva green)
call me by your name (2017)
romeo and juliet (1968—i hate the other versions)
lila dit ça (2004)
a nos amours (1983)
a summer's tale (1996)
picnic at hanging rock (1975—it's such a beautifully eerie film)
jeune et jolie (2013)
fat girl (2001)
honorable mention: y tu mama tambien (2001), pann's labyrinth (2006), mektoub, mon amour (2017) and before sunrise (1995).
making this list was so hard because there's just so much more to add. but the top ten will always be mentioned. i'll make a blend of french new wave and an italian cinema list. i'll also make a list of my favourite directors and literary authors too as they also inspire my work and what i share.
