Can you believe it was only June 4 moths ago?!
Yup, that's the best opener I've got at the moment. Sorry mates. But if something better comes along, I'll gladly change it.
So here we are less than 24 Hours away from shooting. I had a nice hour cardio session at the gym followed by some light lifting. I'm trying to stay up super late tonight because all 3 shoot days are overnights, so tis' the perfect time to reflex on my journey.
And it defiantly been one. Not only have I changed my body, but I've changed my being, my way of life... and not just for MMPR but for myself. There were days when I could have tried harder, days when I had to just stop, but I found it within myself to keep going. I'd say besides the awesome body and new martial art skills, that is the biggest gain :)
I've gotten to a place where the choices I've been making have become good habits and routines that focus toward a healthier way of life.
I would like to take a moment to thank the teachers and staff at Anderson Martial Arts, and I highly recommend them!!! They treat you like family and truly want to see you succeed http://andersonsmartialarts.com/
I hope to continue training with them.
The fight rehearsals have been hard yet extremely energizing! There's nothing better then at the end of the day, the fights look awesome and the Coordinator's are happy :) If there was anything I really wanted to prove, it was what I could hold my own and do all the fighting and stunts. Now is some universes; I would have gotten a double.. but being able to do the massive sequence in the end has really made me just giddy and proud. I've worked hard and it has paid off big time.
PS The Suit... Seriously cool! And that's all I can say about that. There are even matching Blue high heels OMG so fabulous (j/k guys!!!)
I am a little loopy right now, so sorry about all the rando tangents and bad jokes. I am antsy right now and want to get going on it. So I have alot of extra energy to burn... and I still have to attempt to stay up for 2 more hours. (Speaking of tangents: Isn't it always the case when you want to stay up late, you cant but when you have to get up early you can't sleep a wink) Soooooo annoying right!?!?!
And something to ponder at 3am...
I actually had a night I couldn't sleep because the DUCKTALES theme song was stuck in my head. Now I totally want it as my ringtone.
Actually I want this version of it (WARNING: It will get stuck in your head)

So back to MMPR... Good news is that word is starting to get out in my home state of Rhode Island about everything. I had my first phone interview for my local paper and I'm sure more are on the way. Especially once they officially release we are coming to Rhode Island Comic Con!
It's going to be such a blast. I'm excited to see if people I grew up with will make they way to the con.
The journey doesn't end once the shoot is over friends.... But I'll still be blogging through all the post production, tours, and premieres! So you won't be getting rid of me that easily Mahahaha!!!
I felt bad not being able to write as much as I had originally hoped, but I did try to make it up to you all with lots of pictures... I'll try to post a bunch of cool ones from set. But... gotta ask the bosses first :)
And please!! Keep asking questions :) Seriously I want to write about things that interest you all as well. Don't want to be completely selfish on here. Also, if you want some of the recipes from the pics I post, let me know as well!
But before I sign off here, I do want to give you my injury count over the last few months... Why because I think it's cool, and plus I'm a bit a klutz with superior reflexes. And well No pain no gain! grrrrrrr (yeah right I'm such a baby at times)
Chopped the tip of my left thumb off (esp was a baby when this happened! Then decided to play Frisbee at the beach the next day)
Jammed my elbow sparring at JKD
Dropped a can of PAM on my baby toe
Several Kali stick hits to the head, temple, nose, and hands,
Having a lat pulldown bar at the gym dropped on my head
A dead sexy bruise on my right arm from the first rehearsal
Kneed in the shin doing blocking drills at Anderson
Kicked in the head doing a hip toss (luckily he was wearing those feet shoes... which I despise! Please don't tell me how amazing they are, I know; but they just freak me out)
Took a tonfa to the head and to both wrists (improper blocking on my end!)
Gingerly punched in the mouth when being grabbed by a stunt man
And had a can of tomato paste at the market drop on my ankle
And I'm sure there is more to come.... BRING IT!
But hey this is the meal I have chosen (gottta bring in some Italian) and well I'm glad that I can handle all these bumps and bruises and minor decapitations like a champ. But trust me, you still have to alert your stunt coordinator or teacher. Never try to be the big man and play it off because it's always about safety.
Sooo I'm going to sign off here and do a wee bit of foam rollin and pick something good to watch on Netflix.
