if you watched project hail mary and you ever thought 'i wonder what earth went through in all this with a dimming sun' the movie kind of touches on it but never really gets to fully explore. may i recommend;
fool night
explores an earth that is completely blanketed in darkness where humans give their life to become plants leading to questions of morality, and looks into society and how it behaves in scarcity. obviously on the bleaker end but has been an interesting read nonetheless.
really loved this video on it that got me hooked on it
I made a friend! Literally!
I finished this brushbuddy art doll earlier this week and he is very cute. It's got a wire armature inside and is fully posable, including the leather fingers and toes. (There are also magnets in the feet to potentially stick it to things later.)
he just like me bro
could not resist the urge to make this magnificent creature real :)
progress shots and link to the tutorial i used under the cut!
My brain's playing that concert on a loop.

It took me a while to process everything after the Tame Impala show last week. Due to some personal reasons, I almost had to pass on the show, but I'm so glad I didn't.
I’d seen some of their recent shows on YT and I was afraid it might be a little too much for me. I love Kevin's music, but an arena-size show with lasers, strobes, and confetti seemed overwhelming for my autistic ass. But somehow... it wasn't? I even brought sunglasses, but I only put them on once or twice when the lights were extremely bright for my sensitive eyes—and mostly because I didn't want to squint in the front row and look like an idiot.
When you check the entire discography, the shift in style over time is obvious. If you listen to the first record, Innerspeaker, and then to Deadbeat, the transition is huge, even though you can tell they share the same DNA. Every record created by Kevin has a different experimental "twist," and it seems like an impossible task to create a setlist where songs from all 5 albums blend together. But believe me, it works and sounds incredibly well.
The whole band and the technical crew (lights, effects) delivered 1,000%. Everything was on point, yet it didn’t look like they were trying too hard—it felt almost effortlessly accurate.
When you watch old shows and see young Kevin, many people say he didn't seem confident on stage—rather shy, not the typical 'frontman.' A barefoot hippie with a Rickenbacker. He never wanted the spotlight as the lead musician, despite being the mastermind behind the entire creative process. He used to think a solo project would be boring and always doubted his skills. Nowadays, he seems to have gained much more confidence; his voice is stronger than ever.
Tame Impala has always been iconic to me. The way that vintage sound blends with modern production, combined with Kevin’s songwriting as a one-man band, has always stunned me. Some people are displeased with the latest album—the most electronic so far—but oh boy... if only you could experience 'Not My World' performed live on Stage B.
Ah yeah, Stage B. My only regret is that I only bought a ticket for one of the two Tame Impala shows. I was at the front barrier, but it would have been incredible to see the show from Stage B as well, where Kevin performs a more intimate set. It almost emulates a studio environment, like inviting the audience into his creative process—really precious. It was magical to see it on the screens, so I can only imagine what it was like from up close.
I know everyone who finally sees their favorite artist live says 'their' show was special, but the Gliwice show night two was truly one of a kind. At one point, Kevin shared that this was his first-ever completely sober show—no alcohol, no drugs. He joked that it sounded like he had a problem (which isn't the case), but he just decided that since he was playing two nights at the same venue, he wanted the second one to be truly special—to feel everything. Wow.
I'm happy that in an age where pop culture is based on TikTok virals and scandals, there is still a place for music with heart and soul—created with passion and not just to please the algorithm.
P.S. I didn't record much—just a few snippets—because I wanted to fully immerse myself in the show. Plus, I always feel too self-conscious about filming. It's always a tough decision for me: record the show to save it for later, or just enjoy it here and now. I'm honestly bad at multitasking. I wish I had been at both shows—I would have felt much less guilty about filming instead of just vibing.
Hitchcock once said that a movie should start with an earthquake and then rise in tension.
Starting the set with Apocalypse Dreams, Kevin didn’t just give us an earthquake; he gave us a cosmic grand finale delivered as an opening act.
Talk about setting a mood!
Kevin Parker, what planet are you actually from?
Still trying to process the last night. The live version of Gossip caught me completely off guard—starting with those dreamy, pulsating synths and then hitting us with that absolutely massive wall of sound drop.

tumblr is such a different animal than other social media platforms for so many reasons obviously but one thing i really find funny about it is how on other sites if i see something that doesn't interest me i don't follow or don't like the post. but on here if someone i follow starts posting exclusively about something really niche that i have no interest in my reaction is never to unfollow. its just part of the natural environment. like oh mutual is now really into pro wrestling? ok i guess ill be seeing these guys around now
