I think the idea of Max refusing to swear in hindi is so funny. Most of my bilingual friends refuse to swear in their native language, and from what they've told me uts quite common to view English swears as "not that bad".

Imagine another Indian kid comes to camp, Max, who had been swearing like a sailor all summer, hears this kid swear in Hindi under their breath and freaks out. tbh the thing everyone gets wrong ab max and neil's dynamic is this idea that max is the menace and neil gets dragged into it. they are BOTH haters as fuck!!! neil is an absolute asshole half of the time 😭. they talk shit TOGETHER. the difference is that neil is wayyyy pettier ab it & only rlly cares if he's been personally slighted. max just likes to start shit bc he thinks it's entertaining
