in general im a hater of "this dear friend of mine is like a family member to me" in fiction causeeee so many times it implies that friendship is not enough or lesser than family and i mega disagree with that. AND sometimes it fits the character and their dinamics and it would make sense they would say that, wich is ok. but soooo many times you can see the writers being like "well dont want you to ship this as a gay ship :/ so i'll say this"
