*buries his nose in Balthier's slightly grown-out hair and hums happily*
-smiles, returning the quiet humm-
“You know I’m going to cut it, love.”
boltrunofdestiny:
fervidblaze:
“That is alright. I can still enjoy it. And it will grow out again in time anyway.”
*chuckles and nuzzles the spot right above Balthier’s ear*
“I wouldn’t mind if it didn’t.”
“But it looks good on you.”
“if I listen to you, anything is good.”
*buries his nose in Balthier's slightly grown-out hair and hums happily*
-smiles, returning the quiet humm-
“You know I’m going to cut it, love.”
boltrunofdestiny:
fervidblaze:
“But it’s even more soft when it’s grown out like this because it doesn’t prick as much.”
“What if I like it better when it’s short?”
“That is alright. I can still enjoy it. And it will grow out again in time anyway.”

Oh, but I like it like this. It’s so soft…
“It’s always soft. I take enough care for it to be.”

A knock on the door-- A man carrying a bundle. "We're sorry," The man says, bowing his head respectfully as he hands the now-cold body to Balthier. A lock of silver hair escapes from the wrapping.
Doubtfully he looked at the man, a hint of silent judging in his gaze as always. He crossed his arms, trying to catch meaning of what this stranger wanted.
It took less than the blink of an eye before his fassade fell, eyes whide in disbelieve. This wasn’t...!
“A morbid taste of humor...”Â
It was all that he managed to say, hoping for this to be the worst joke he had seen.

RIP OUT MY MUSE’S HEART IN 1 ASK.
Go serious, go dark, go full out heartbreaking. PULL AT MY MUSES FEELS
"'Thier! Balthier! Look!" Like an excited moogle Firion stumbled into the Strahl, a small pouch of gil in his outstretched hand. He beamed with joy and a hint of pride as the words bubbled out of him. "I played a game of luck against Vaan and he tried to cheat, but I still won!"
Slowly the sky pirate crossed his arms as he looked at the white haired.
“…I always knew Vaan wasn’t the right one to try gambling.” He sighed but started to laugh quietly.
“Good Job, love.”
“Can you help me? I don’t think I will be able to learn everything myself.”
“i can’t do it all for you”
“Well, not all of it. I just need a little help with learning.”
“fiiine”

“Good Job, love.”
“But that is not fair!”
“Life’s never been fair. Better learn your numbers.”
“But I can only count to twelve…”, the rebel admitted, blushing slightly. “Mabye a little farther.”
“that… is gonna be tough then,.”

“Occasionally they miss calculate on purpose. so yes.”

“And if I’m not around you will risk merchants to rid you of your coin.”

“Yes, but if I add it up, what does that make?” If he had counted right, there were thirteen stacks, and one that had only four coins. “I can’t count that high.”
“About a hundred and thirtyfour gil, love. We really need to work on that..”
“Hm? Is that not much?” It sounded like a lot to him.

Firion felt his cheeks heat up - not out of embarrassment, but happiness. He placed the last coin from the pouch onto one of the little stacks he had built in front of him, ten gil each, then looked up at Balthier’s smiling face.
“How much does that make?”
He took a carefull but short look at the stacks before he looked back to firion.
“…that makes 10 gil per stack, love. I am pretty sure you can count them yourself.”
“Yes, but if I add it up, what does that make?” If he had counted right, there were thirteen stacks, and one that had only four coins. “I can’t count that high.”
