on september 11th, satam al-suqami was the only hijacker not to use his travel documents to obtain a state-issued driver’s license or ID, since his visa was expired by that point. so, he was one of the two hijackers (nawaf al-hazmi being the second) who used his passport for check-in rather than an american-issued ID card.
nawaf al-hazmi's california drivers license.
Accepting that whatever is wrong with you is unfixable brings a kind of peace I must admit
mohamed atta's school cards.
I need a personal blog here. I can't be as morbid and honest as I'd like on my other blog but people are here for true crime so I don't wanna flood the dash with random Islam posts either
"Abdulaziz Al-omari, another one of Wail al-Shehris helpers on American flight 11, was also fond of the company of women. I liked him. One couldn't help liking him, for he was so easily approachable. He had the boyish charm of someone who could talk himself into any situation - and out of it just as quickly. Like al-Shehri he was talkative and expansive, but unlike al-Shehri he was amiable and easygoing, not so much engaging in conversation as putting on a show for the amusement (and admiration) of the young woman sharing his tab."

he knows how badass he is
"One night Jarrah was sitting across from me with Ahmed al- Nami, one of his partners on the Pennsylvania flight. Al-Nami had a falafel platter in front of him and was clearly annoyed about something. He poked and stabbed at his food, wielding his fork like a weapon and spitting out invective in between mouthfuls. On and on he went, stabbing and chewing, stabbing and chewing. I watched and wondered - what the hell has gotten into the little prick? Whatever it was, Jarrah was not taking it seriously. He was not taking al-Nami serious."

While traveling through Aleppo in late 1994, Mohamed Atta met a young Palestinian woman named Amal
Atta was visiting Syria as part of an archaeological and town-planning expedition alongside his German university professor, Dittmar Machule, and fellow student Volker Hauth.
Amal was employed at a local urban planning bureau. Because Atta was heavily invested in studying urban planning and the preservation of ancient Islamic architecture at the Technical University of Hamburg, the two spent significant time interacting through their shared professional interests.
Atta became strongly attracted to Amal. The feeling appeared mutual. Amal famously teased Atta's serious demeanor with a half-admiring joke, telling him, "All Egyptians are Pharaohs."
Despite his strong attraction to her, Atta ultimately rejected pursuing a relationship or marriage. Atta confessed that she was simply "too emancipated." He stated with a sense of regret that her modern, westernized lifestyle and independent mindset did not fit the submissive, traditional role he demanded of a woman.

In late 1999, after returning to Egypt from Germany, Atta entered into an arranged engagement orchestrated by his father and a local family in Cairo.
According to statements later made by Atta's father, the two individuals reportedly liked each other, but the marriage never took place.
Atta was already heavily radicalized and deep into the planning phases of the al-Qaeda Hamburg cell, eventually leaving for Afghanistan shortly after.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed talked about the men's relationship; it may have reshaped what happened on September 11.
(im kidding guys)
fun fact: nine eleven is NOT the reason why we need smaller bottles for planes.
it’s because of the 2006 transatlantic aircraft plot
a draft letter by ted kaczynski on “privacy, overpopulation & technology” (circa 1970)
“maybe you think my views are extreme. okay. wait thirty years and we’ll see. but by then, of course, it will be too late to do anything about it.”
Why did you convert ?
It's very personal (as all religious journeys should be) so I don't know if I really feel comfortable going entirely into it here. The part I will say, is that I have always been a religiously inclined person and while I was raised Catholic I never really "clicked" with the religion. A lot of it is just so nonsensical and weird to me (no offense if I have any Catholic followers), like the Trinity and also the fact that you have to confess/ask forgiveness from Just Some Guy. Why do I need to tell it to a priest? I can speak to God myself.
I also really enjoy the structure of Islam, Salah really brings me peace and allows me to feel connected to God throughout the day and reminds me to try my hardest to conduct myself as a good Muslim. It has done wonders for my personal growth and in curbing negative habits (like self harm - I haven't cut myself once since proclaiming Shahada!)
Are you a guy or a girl I can’t tell
Guy, I dont list it because people in this community are weird about it. There are so many people here who rampantly hate men
there was a four minute period, only, where all of the men were in the air, on all four planes, at the same time on september 11th.
They were too young for that
Nas’al Allah an yudkhilhum al-jannah
it's okay to see it from different perspectives, but I feel sick when I see that curly-haired guy staring down and the brave one looking straight at the camera (maybe that's why Emwasi chose him)
You know what's funny, I was just thinking about this a few days ago! It's so morbid, but I wondered if they chose him to be front and center and executed by Emwazi for any particular reason. I'm always struck by how he looked, that defiant look into the camera and how unlike a lot of the other beheading victims you don't see even a moment of fear on his face
