he wasn’t entirely sure how he’d managed to get himself stuck at some halloween party he had no interest in being at to begin with , but there he was , the tall male dragging around the decaying corpse currently cocooned in cling-foil. the best part about working on halloween , was the ability to walk freely through the streets with his latest victim without turning heads.
❛ —- holyshit , cool costume man ! ❜ the stranger spoke as he knelt down and began to poke at the deceased body , but andrew remained completely tranquil despite the possibility of getting caught. as the other began to ramble on about how real his ‘costume’ looked , cognac hues scoped out the room , landing upon a familiar face that tugged at his heartstrings. he stares for a moment longer than he should , before quickly averting his gaze elsewhere , hoping she hadn’t spotted him among the crowds.
he couldn’t let her see him. not now , not like this. he practically ignores the guy still throwing sentences his way and turns to make a quick , furtive escape.
she’d noticed him the moment he’d walked into the room because, of course she had, of course she always would, but it had been so long. she remembered the day he disappeared like it was yesterday, remembered the visceral moment she threw up on his front curb when a police officer had told her the news, remembered the empty feeling in her stomach being replaced by an empty feeling in her chest. he still had those same eyes, those deep hues that always stole her deepest secrets.
but she didn’t understand. most things she could make sense of, even with nonsensical explanations. the dreamer, as she was so often called, with her head in the clouds and her mind set on unrealistic goals, yet here he was –––– a manifestation of all her wildest dreams. the exact things so many people had told her were useless fantasies... one of them was now stood right there.
❛ drew ? ❜ her brain and feet had not connected, and she found herself smack dab in front of the male before she could even stop herself ( no surprise there, really ). he’s already turned to leave but that doesn’t stop isabel from choosing to plant herself in his life again. this time, and this time she had little intention of leaving.
