that little moment of lashing out, when you’re frustrated or tired or angry or upset or all of them at once, and you shove that chair out of the way, or rip at your shoelaces, or slam the door. but then the chair falls on your toes and your eyes start to water, or your laces get knotted and you have to go back and carefully pick them undone, or the door gets caught on your jacket and rips apart a seam. that one little thing where you’re all alone, and it’s suppose to be a release, a venting of all your pent-up negativity. but instead you’re sitting there, rubbing your sore toes and sniffing back tears, or trying to keep your fingers steady enough to loop them through the shoelaces, or holding your softest sweater, the one you got on family vacation six years ago, and poking a knuckle through it’s new hole. you’re all alone, and it was supposed to make you feel better, but now all you wanna do is cry and beat yourself up over this one, tiny, meaningless frustration.

i dunno… those moments were just always the saddest.

Some unfriendly depression suggestions from someone with depression:

1. Ask before venting and accept if the person says no. Sometimes people have to prioritize themselves

2. Venting is okay and necessary, but just dumping on people without asking WILL make them avoid you

3. if you need a break or have a major problem with something say it, don’t be passive-aggressive

4. if your mental illness makes you take everything personally try to work on those thoughts, instead of expecting everyone in a 5 mile radius to walk on eggshells (not applying to triggers. Communication is key.)

5. don’t expect people to stop doing objectively harmless things they enjoy (singing, drawing, etc) because you’re insecure about your own skills

5. mental illness is tough and your struggle is valid, but you don’t have a right to make it tougher for other people who are struggling as well

I have intermittent strabismus - esotropia. It causes my eyes to cross and it’s a big problem. My depth perception is terrible and I’m in a lot of pain in my eyes. I also can’t focus on things.

When my eyes started to do this again, I looked at all the online glasses retailers I could find and they all told me they do not make the kind of lens I would need (high diopter prism progressive). I was estimated to spend about $400-600 on glasses, but I can’t afford that. I am a college student and I need to buy books, and I also need a car…

imagine this: you elbow someone on accident. you might not have even known you elbowed someone, but they start to cry because it hurt a lot. you don’t apologize because it was an accident and you don’t think you did anything wrong. in fact, you get angry because they are so upset over something you didn’t even intend to do.

this scenario doesn’t really seem realistic because the negative effects are physical and maybe even visible assuming it will leave a bruise. of course you would apologize if you accidentally elbowed someone; you hurt them, whether you intended to or not.

this same logic should apply when you accidentally hurt someone’s feelings. whether it was your intention or not, you hurt them. if someone comes to you and says you hurt them, you apologize, whether you meant to hurt them or not. the effects of hurting someone’s feelings may not always be visible or physical but they deserve the same attention.

Allow me to elaborate on how bad things are here. 7 places are burning at the same time while in Μάτι and Κίνετα the fire not only burned trees but because off the strong winds(80 kilometes per hour) it burned houses, it burned people. Firefighters and volunteers do whatever they can with the little gear they have as always because why on earth would the goverment give money to firefighting vechiles, canadairs and literally anything else that could be useful in this country when we know that every summer someone wants to burn forests so they can build whatever they want. Anyways, people started running away once some firefighters managed to warn them to evacute ( something that others should have done because these people have to keep working so they can prevent the fore from doing anymore damage ). People started running to get to the beach which was their only hope, unfortunately some people with their families were trapped once the fire circurled the area around them leaving them with the only thing to do, wait for their end. Charred bodies were found locked in embrace the next day. Now the people who reached the beach had to wait there so they could be transferred from there to the port of Ραφήνα. Here’s a photo :

While the boats reascued people from the beach they also retrived 19 more from the sea and 10 bodies (I am not sure for the number). That’s a small peak off what has happened the fires haven’t stopped while there are many revivals of the fires. Let me add more information on the matter.

The deaths are officially at 79 by the most recent official announcement. Places like Mati, Kineta, Chania, Neos Boutsas and more are being burned to the core.

Minimum help is being given by neighboring countries. Officially 2 aircrafts from Italy and 2 from Cuprus whipe some are expected from Romania, Hungary, Spain.

There are abouy 31 people registred as missing in a web site while that doesnt mean those are all the people missing.

If you know people you know or suspect are missing call 199, the fire department.

If you are looking for someone missing don’t call hospitals, call 199, the fire department.

People got burned alive in their cars, in their homes.

Cars are literally melted by the fires.

The victims include children, thankfully the ones that survived are shocked, of course, but safe and in the hospital. The number of kids in the hospital ‘Παίδον’ (Pedon) in Athens is 11; 12 exited yesterday, and the kids left are expected to leave today.

The suspicion of the fires falls on arson. It something that Greece has suffered from a lot throughout the years. Yet we are never prepared for most of our problems whether it has to do with natural causes or not.
