Jonas as Tadej's last man in the mountains. (Launcher of a lot of Pogi bombs).
Jonas has won some stages but they're mostly "gifts" from Tadej.
Jonas finds himself in a bit of a strained conversation with Wout. Really, he's very impressed with Wout (who isn't)? but also, secretly intimidated.
Mid-convo, Jonas says something like "ah no, well I am not a winner like you."
Wout frowns: "Why not go for it? Tadej has a million very good domestiques, you can be in the breakaway sometimes. You can win. On your own. Not as a gift or anything."
At the next TDF stage, Jonas' job is to stay with Tadej and launch him at the last climb. There's like two category 1 climbs here.
But when Wout attacks with a large group at KM 0, Jonas ended up following him suddenly.
GC contenders let them go but Jonas is getting scolded in the team radio.
Jonas doesn't know why he suddenly became disobedient, but he knows it has something to do with what Wout said-- they haven't even talked much before that.
But after that conversation, he felt the urge to follow him.
At the foot of the last climb, it's obvious that Jonas has no intention of playing satellite rider. He rips the radio out of his ear.
Other riders have dropped except for Jonas and Wout.
People are shocked that Jonas could climb that fast and that Wout can win a mountain stage.
Jonas still loses cause it ends in a descent and Wout bombs it on the downhill.
At the interview, Wout laughs when asked about Jonas. He actually saw the moment that Jonas ripped the earpiece off and thought it was "badass."
Jonas is scolded by the team (especially since he didn't win in the end), but he feels happy, lighthearted.
