Maybe weird request but that last ask got me curious now... I'd looove to hear some more of your ghostbusters headcanons! Or even hear more about your OC she's so cool! You're like one of the only people I've come across invested in the IDW comics (and Ron lol), when I say I was obsessed about a year ago.

Not a weird ask at all! I'm always up to talk about my interpretations !

And yes the comics are genuinely my FAVORITE part of the franchise, as someone whos trying to become a comic artist myself, I am absolutely engrossed in this writing. And the STYLE. ough I could write an essay on it, I love recreating Dan Schoening's style because its just *everything* to me

As for talking about my versions of characters and even Dr. Camburn (it makes me SO happy you think she's cool by the way!! Shes my baby, and I made her like four years ago fun fact!) I think I'm just gonna ramble about what I think Ron's story is, Aria's backstory, & how they met, as they're the main focus of my blog

Ron is such an interesting character to me, we don't know much of anything about him other than that he was Rejected from joining the Ghostbusters originally, and that hes a gifted engineer.

My boyfriend contributed to this idea, but Ron looked up to the Ghostbusters, modern day heroes made out of every day, ordinary people.

(Hes around. Mid thirties in the comics runs I like to think? Not much younger than the busters)

He had a troubled homelife and was often overlooked compared to his siblings, which even as a child caused him to want to be the loudest in the room to stand out, to garner some sort of attention. He barely passed high-school, and college wasnt for him, at all.

However he got through, and with no real plans afterward, he got a job as a mechanic for a couple years, which gave him the space to start tinkering/working on his own inventions, but none of them really took off. He started running with bad people, easily influenced, landing a few minor sentences, all that shit, around this time the Ghostbusters started up and became a world wide phenomenon.

After so many failed attempts, his last ditch effort at becoming something, anything, was applying for the Ghostbusters.

The day he got that letter he turned, truly, for the worst

Aria is a foreign exhange student from Sicilia, moving to America in 1982 when she was 18-19. Coming from a broken household, her father was a miltary veteran who wanted nothing to do with his children, her mother had been killed and she never got closure as to what happened. The exhange program was a fresh start, a new door for her and she jumped at the opportunity.

Originally she planned to study to become a teacher, minoring in psychology as a fallback, Aria ended up switching majors entirely after meeting her professor for the first time, Dr. Venkman.

Now a parapsycology major, Aria found herself utterly engrossed in the subject, staying late after hours, working as an errand runner when needed even. Even once she graduated she stuck around as an assistant, until the Grant was terminated and Venkman brought up the idea of going into buisness. (Aria worked as a tutor during this period to try and help bring in money)

Once the buisness is started up, Aria becomes sorta the first EET, willing to test out some of the first versions of the gear.

She meets Ron during the first introduction of the Ghostsmashers, and they constantly bicker every time they're around eachother.

Their dynamic changes after a meet at a bar, he persuades her into playing against him in billiards, they talk, and realize they arent. Really that different, both from broken families, both not really knowing what they're doing.

He walks her back to the firehouse and its not taken well, her bosses not liking the fact that shes presumably sneaking around with their rival </3

He ends up sneaking into the firehouse a few times to visit her and gets caught on the roof with her once by Venkman and things do not go over well lol

This is exactly how I headcanon/write him!

Ron works as his translator (since not everyone understands signing), and its helping him learn patience aswell :]
