Jin tried to stay quiet but it failed as he burst out laughing. Bless Koichi, truly. Him being dramatic is one of the things he loves about the blond. Leaning on the edge of his seat, Jin wrapped his arms around the blond’s neck and rested their foreheads together.

“I know but ’s really fine. Birthday or not, it was just another day. Though I did spend more time with Shu, in yer absence.” He paused with a small hum to kiss his nose. “I still love you.”

“S-Still...” Koichi nuzzled against Jin as he wrapped his arms around his lover. “I wanted to be able to at least spend time with you...” He whispered. Slowly he stood up and crawled into Jin’s lap, pressing close against him. “It may not have meant much to you, but I think its important...” Especially considering how much danger Jin tended to put himself in. Koichi saw every birthday as a cause for celebration. 

“I at least owe you something in order to make up for not being here...maybe we could go out to dinner or something of the like. Whatever you want.”

Koichi let out a noise that was a mix between a whine and a groan as Jin tried to reassure him. “B-But it wasn’t just any other day!! It was your birthday! You know me, I never miss your birthdays!!” He dramatically sunk down on his knees. “Thanks to the stupid steering committee sending me off to do work I wasn’t able to call you or bake you a cake or anything!! I feel like a terrible fiance!!” 

Was he being overdramatic about this? Probably.

“Jin’s birthday is coming up in a few days~! Hmmmm I should probably go out shopping so I can get ingredients to bake a cake~”

“Usually I’m the one doin’ the teasin’..” He muttered with a small huff before visibly relaxing at the hand that he leaned into. “I’d rather get my right hand fucked up than be considered stereotypical..”

“Besides, bein’ comforted like this by you is nice..” His lips placed a small kiss to the palm of Koichi’s hand, before leaning in to kiss him softly.

“I know you are, but hey there really isn’t anything wrong with being like a dad...I mean you kinda have some of the symptoms like being protective over your kids...” He chuckled a little as he moved closer to Jin.

“You like being comforted by me, hmmm?” His eyes grew softly lidded at the kiss to his palm and he smiled against Jin’s lips once his affection moved to there.

Jin groaned loudly before leaning against his fiance, a look of clear annoyance on his features. “Yeah, well. I hate it. I ain’t gonna give in, either. They should just take a damn hint before I get creative.”

“Besides, do I even seem the type to be all…dad like?”

“Oh you shouldn’t get so worked up, love. Its all just harmless teasing....” He placed a hand his cheek and smiled. “Mmm as for being dad like...I suppose you’re not really the stereotypical ‘dad’.”

“They should be attackin’ you, of all people. That’s more yer thing than anyone else’s..”

“I’m just. So tired.”

Koichi wasn’t going to help either. Such luck he had.

“Coming after me for something like that would make things too easy.” Koichi hummed as he walked over to pat Jin on the back. “Their ultimate goal is trying to get under your skin to bother you.”
