one of the most interesting and beautiful things about portuguese - a very romantic language - is that tchau (bye) and te amo (i love you) have a very similar phonetics so sometimes, if someone says te amo too fast, one could actually hear them saying bye. and in other times if you drag the tchau just right, you could be surprised with one 'i love you too' right back at you.
