Repost 🎨 @howamifeelingg Something I often beat myself for is not having my life seem as put together as other people. This comparison of worlds causes a lot of stress especially during impromptu conversations with other people. My usual go-to response afterwards would be to beat myself up internally and tell myself I should/better get my shit together. But reacting to the situation that way never made anything feel better. While it did motivate me for a short period of time, there would always be a steep drop off where I felt even worse about myself. I would feel even more like a lazy person that wasn’t motivated unless faced with those uncomfortable situations. . The actual reality of those convos is that we’re all on a different path. We’re all pursuing different things in different ways. It isn’t a contest of who’s doing better, we just tend to interpret it that way.. . Whatever you’re doing, however you’re doing it, do it for yourself and no one else. Live your life the way that best fits what you want to accomplish and forgive yourself for feeling like you’re a failure.
