Lori Vallow and the disappearance of her children
Lori Vallow’s adopted son J.J (7) and her daughter Tylee (17) were last seen in September 2019, however it was concerned relatives that raised the issue, not Lori. In November 2019 a welfare check was conducted for Tylee by police, Vallow saying she was staying in arizona with relatives, however she was also reported denying having any minor children at the time or saying Tylee had died in 2017. The day after the welfare check her and her husband Chad left Rexburg, Idaho and fled to Hawaii, but not before they visited and subsequently abandoned Vallow’s storage unit that contained her childrens items and photographs.
It’s important to note her recent 5th marriage in November to Chad Daybell, which occurred after her 4th husband was shot dead by her brother and after Daybell’s wife died of “natural causes” in 2019. Authorities are looking into the death as Chad remarried only weeks after. Chad Daybell established an “end of times” publishing company and Lori became “obsessed” with his work in 2015, joining him in podcasts related to the end of times in 2018. In February 2019 she allegedly told her 4th husband Leland Anthony Vallow she “no longer cared about him or J.J”, was “the reincarnated wife of Joesph Smith”, and disappeared for 58 days. Police say they strongly believe her children’s lives are in danger and that Lori knows what happened or where they are, but she’s “completely refused to assist this investigation” and “has chosen instead to leave the state with her new husband.”
On January 25, 2020 authorities served Lori with a court order to produce the children within 5 days. She failed to do so. On February 20, 2020 she was arrested in Kauai, Hawaii and charged with two felony counts of desertion and nonsupport of dependent children. Her bail was refused by the judge to be lowered and currently sits at 5 million dollars.
