Just putting this out in the universe. I’d like to accomplish this in 3 years instead of 5… but we’ll see. 🥹🤷♀️
Miss Coco with all her toes in action. 😻
I've been doing a lot of research on plastic/cosmetic surgery lately because I'm probably going to be having some in the not too distant future. There are people already judging me who just read that. It's an attitude I've run into a lot, and I'm really tired of it. I'm not having it done for (strictly) aesthetic reasons, so my reasons are considered "good", but if I just wanted new titties because I want some new titties, and not because I'm dealing with the after effects of breast cancer, THAT WOULD BE OK!
My research has lead me to two main conclusions - 1) people really need to stop making fun of people seeking plastic surgery, because everyone's needs and reasons are different and that should be respected and 2) child birth COMPLETELY fucks over your body.
I've heard the concept of a "Mommy makeover" before, and like a lot of people I scoffed at the concept, but in most of those cases a big part of what they're doing is internal - repairing damage done to the abdominal wall during child birth. Nearly every tummy tuck or liposuction procedure I've seen has involved repairing the abdominal wall which was utterly fucked up my childbirth. It's basically returning someone to the condition they were in BEFORE they pushed out a kid, and honestly more power to them.
Body positivity and autonomy shouldn't just be for fat people who want to be comfortable in their own appearance. It should be for people who are decidedly UN-comfortable with their bodies and have the agency and means to do something about it. They are making a decision for their own piece of mind. And while you can't remove societal influences on our decisions, the vision of these women as vain, frivolous women getting surgery to appease their shallow, emotionally distant husbands is not accurate. Sure there are people out there like that and while it's not a great reason to make major changes to your body, it's still their choice!
We need to stop judging people for pursuing plastic surgery and have respect their bodily autonomy. So many people claim to be accepting of other people's bodily decision right until someone does something to their body that the observer thinks is "bad" or "shallow".
Wanting to look the way you envision is not a sin, and if cosmetic surgery is what it takes to make you comfortable in your own body? Good for you and please do it as safely and responsibly as possible. Do your research, take your time, and if a doctor tells you a procedure cannot be done for safety reasons, for fuck's sake listen to them!
