Oh, okay Miss. I was raised in a traditional family, and I’m trying to work out if I want to live that way, or in a more liberal way. It’s one of the main reasons I’m here.

PM: You had orders to follow every moment of the day at home? Every family is different of course.. but that’s quite a lot more structured than I’m use to hearing about.

PM: A lot of the time it was just general stuff, Sir. I wasn’t like, Cinderella or anything. I’d be told to be at home by a certain hour after school or face a punishment that my Dom brother and sister wouldn’t face. So even when I was out, I had that order in the back of mind to be home when I was told to be.

PM: I’m being dumb.

No, she didn’t, but it’s a pretty clear sign that I’m maybe thinking about not living a traditional life. I guess, anyway. It doesn’t really matter, because I’ve signed up for it now, Sir.

PM: These things happen. You aren’t the first to feel that way, and you won’t be the last. With the newest changes the Council and I have made to the rules, perhaps things will feel a little less chaotic for you in the coming weeks. Is this your first time being away from your parents?

PM: That makes sense, that others feel this way too. I saw those new rules, they all made sense to me. I’ll make sure to follow them, Sir. It is, but I think it’s more than that? I don’t have orders to follow for every moment of the day. I don’t have to earn free time. It’s disconcerting, I think is probably the right word.

PM: That’s okay, Headmaster. I showed up at a pretty busy time. I’m doing okay, Sir, mostly. I’m feeling a bit of a culture shock, I think. There’s a lot here I’m not used to.

I guess that depends on what your plans are post-graduation. Do you want to settle down and become a nice, clean-cut house-sub, or are you going to head out in the world and to hell with traditional ideas?

Really? Well, that’s a shame. You should tell her that even subs ought to know how to make money. Do you really want to live in a world where Doms are responsible for handling everybody’s finances? Because as an almost-professor, I can tell you it’s pretty pathetic how bad most of them are at basic math.

There’s a couple of ways to answer that. Every new Doctor is really its own era, but there was a break of sixteen years, so anything from 2005 onwards is the ‘new’ era. Yep, the show started in 1963, Sir.

I...uh, I don’t think I’d be really upset if I ended up like my Dad and was a house-sub, Sir. But I want to learn things, so bad.

I don’t know if I could talk to her like that, Sir, but I see what you’re saying. I don’t, uh...know maths that well.

I would absolutely make the time, Miss. Not far from Cardiff, but even smaller than a small town. More of a tiny village.
